In loving memory

of Dorothy Doris Renee Copeland (age 36) who passed on unexpectedly early April 19th 2017 at 3:26 AM a few

days after sustaining serious injuries in a vehicle accident outside of Tallahassee, Florida and has gone to the House

of the Lord to prepare for us a place with Jesus.

She was the oldest of three children to her mother Sybil Caroline Duron (Ganas-Leggett) and father Jimmie Eugene

Leggett. We will remember her life as there was never a dull moment in the presence of Doris and we are

comforted by her fulfillment of life in the name of Jesus Christ.

Dorothy is survived by her brother Jake Eron Leggett of Lakeland, Georgia and her sister Crystal Anne Powell of

Cairo, Georgia, and numerous aunts, uncles, and grand-parents as she was happily adopted into the Leggett family

at the age of two.

Dorothy was born on December 4th 1980 in Cairo, Georgia to Jimmie and Sybil Leggett. She graduated

from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in 2003 with a degree in Criminal Justice. She married Ronald, her high

school sweetheart, in the summer of 2007 and adopted two beautiful children together, Stacy and Erica. After

moving to California, Dorothy began working for the California Department of Juvenile Justice. Doris loved to take

care of others and working with troubled kids was always her calling.

A funeral is scheduled for April 23rd at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Cairo with a reception to

follow. Her brother and sister will officiate the ceremony. Those who wish to contact the family may do so via

email at jake.eron.leggett@gmail.com
We kindly ask that all who attend remember to celebrate her long life and not her sudden death in this time of grief.
DOROTHY YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN, FOR IN OUR MEMORIES YOU ARE STILL LIVING AND

LOVING, LEARNING AND YEARNING. MAY YOU WALK WITH GRACE WITH THE LORD.
