ad and coupon.
Students will ask any questions they have about the worksheet.
Students will be able to discuss what they have previously learned about ads and coupons.
Students will be able to complete the ads and coupons worksheet.
Materials Needed:
Page 5 of Ads & Coupons Practical Practice 3 by Remedia Publications (the coupons are for
different pizza restaurants)
Pencil
Dry erase board and marker

Pre-Assessment
The students work on the ads and coupons packet every Tuesday. The students should be able to
individually answer the questions on the worksheet then share with the class. The students should
know all the words needed for the worksheet since most are common words. We will read each
of the coupons together. Once we finish reading the coupons we will then answer the questions.
Anticipatory Set:
I will start the lesson by having the students do their daily language review. Then, I will ask the
paraprofessionals to check the students work and help them with any corrections. Then, we will
begin the 1st part of the worksheet, going over the coupons at the top of the page. After that, I
will ask the students if they like pizza or what type of pizza they like.
Lesson Procedures
After I call on several students we will begin the questions. I will read the question then ask the
students to read the question out loud to the paraprofessional who is working with them. After
they read the question they will point to the coupon which will answer the question. Once the
aide has seen the student point to the correct coupon, the student will highlight the answer. After
I will call on a student to answer the question then I will write the answer on the dry erase board.
Then we will continue this process until we have completed the worksheet.
Closure
After we finish the worksheet. We will discuss what they have learned from the worksheet. If
there is time left I will let the students discuss and relate this to real life skills they can use.
Evaluation
As we are discussing the article and the students are asking questions I will listen so I can see if
the students have learned something new. Also when we discuss the worksheets I will open the
discussion so the students can make any observations or ask any questions.
Accommodations
For students that have trouble hearing: I will reread each coupon and questions to ensure that
each student was able to hear what was read.
For students that have trouble writing: I will provide the answers on the whiteboard and an
instructional aide will help those that still struggle by writing on a small white board for them.
