The document discusses selecting a target audience of 15 years and older for a post-apocalyptic film. It explains that while the film is not graphic, it depicts threats of violence and death and repeats the same day, which younger audiences may find confusing. References to war, isolation, and death through props and setting justify targeting audiences 15 and older who can understand the film's concepts.

My opening scene is targeted to teenagers 15 years +, reasons
being my post-apocalyptic film isnt gory however it is threatening and violent - therefore it cant be shown to a young target audience. The reason I have done my target audience as 15 years+ is because a younger audience may find it confusing as the film is a repeat of the same day, and they may not understand the concept.
The typical audience for a post-apocalyptic film, for
example 28 days later is male 25-39. The fact 28 days later is a gory, violent film that has a target audience of 18 years+ suggests the reasons for the older target audience. My film also attracts this target audience as although it isnt gory it has references to death and challenges the audience by repeating the same day.
I have got somebody to explain why they think the target
audience is suitable for 15 years+..
The reason I personally think the target audience should be 15+
is because; it has references to war involving a smoke flare and burnt up clothing, and it expresses death and isolation. Another reason why I think the target audience should be 15+ is specifically because younger audience wouldnt understand the repeat of the same day.
In my opening scene, I used non-violent props however I used a smoke
flare. I used references to death by the character being alone and the huge explosion at the start of the opening scene making the target audience 15 years+. I used the setting; London and the woods creating a norm atmosphere (London) contrasting that with an isolated/ stereotypical creepy setting (the woods).
