Negative Racial Stereotypes Jigsaw Instructions

You will become experts on a negative racial stereotype and teach it to your
classmates

You will make a PowerPoint presentation with a minimum of 5 slides:

o Slide 1: Title Slide your assigned stereotype, you and your partners names

o Slide 2: 3-5 characteristics of stereotype - what the character looks like,

behavior, when this character came into American society, etc. You must also
provide a visual example of the stereotype

o Slide 3: Two modern day examples of stereotype.

o Slide 4: Answer the question, How does your persistent stereotype affect
how others (whites, other ethnic groups) see, relate to, perceive African
Americans?

o Slide 5: References (websites only)

You will have 5-7 minutes to teach your classmates about your assigned stereotype.
