Title of artifact: Lesson Plan 1
Standard: Standard Seven Planning for Instruction

I am placing this artifact, Lesson Plan 1, under Standard Seven Planning for Instruction as
evidence of continued mastery towards preparing for a lesson. When preparing for a lesson, it is
imperative to always know what the students will be able to do and what the teacher will be able
to assess as a result of this lesson. It is a good idea to always include some sort of creativity in
the lesson plan too. Also, when preparing for a lesson, you have to plan for setbacks; you need to
incorporate the fact that some students will need help. This lesson plan about chameleons allows
students to think outside the box and take educational guesses until they arrive at the correct
answer. It also allows them to use their creativity. At the end of the assignment, students will be
able to apply literary understanding and concepts to the world around them and the teacher will
be able to assess what the students learned about science versus what they already knew.
