Title of artifact: Observation 3 (foundations) Behavior
Standard: Standard Eight Instructional Strategies

I am placing this artifact, Observation 3 (foundations) Behavior, under Standard Eight

Instructional Strategies as evidence of continued mastery towards teaching the students in the
best way possible. While Instructional Strategies are more commonly related to the teaching of
the content, it can also be how you deal with your students behavior, how you discipline them,
and how you reward them. In this observation on behavior, one of the students acts out and the
teacher does not respond in a developmentally appropriate way. She yells at him and embarrasses
him in front of his peers. This instructional strategy on teaching a child how to behave is a great
example of what not to do. Children not only need to be taught the curriculum, but they also need
instruction on how to behave and how to socialize. This observation on behavior shows just how
important that is.
