Lion King Costume and Rehearsal Letter
Lion King Costume and Rehearsal Letter
Dear Parents,
As you know, your son or daughter has been working hard in our schools musical,
Lion King, Jr. As we near tech and performance week, here are a few things we could use
your help with:
Rehearsals: Please make sure your child is aware of and attending all rehearsals.
This is particularly important for the last week of rehearsals. Students are
REQUIRED to be at the following rehearsals:
- Mon., May 22th 12-5pm (Shoreline in the gym). This is our dress rehearsal
and first time we use the sets, do final costumes measurements, etc. Your child
should arrive well rested and well fed with a water bottle. They should wear
comfy clothes they can easily change in and out of, and move in. If you could
help prepare a healthy snack to share, please let me know! Our cast is
approximately 40 pre-teens. Mme. OReilly needs some parents with tool
wielding skills to help construct sets starting at 10 am and take down after 5pm.
- Tuesday May 23rd 6-9:30pm (SPECTRUM HIGH SCHOOL) This is our tech
rehearsal. Children need to be fed prior to arriving, bring a water bottle, and a
quiet activity to do. This is our first run with lights and sound, and is a very
stop-go rehearsal. Mme. OReilly needs some parents with tool wielding skills to
help construct sets starting at 430 pm.
- Wednesday May 24th 6-9:30pm (SPECTRUM HIGH SCHOOL) This is our full
dress rehearsal. We run through the show twice with all the lights, sound,
costumes, and sets. A photographer will be present taking photos. Full Cast
photos may be purchased for $ 10 after the final show.
Shows:
- Thursday May 25th : Students will be leaving the school at lunch to be bused
to Spectrum for our grade 5 show. They will be dismissed AT SPECTRUM at
2:50pm, and be expected to return to the theatre for 6pm for our Opening
night. Students will be dismissed after all costumes and change rooms have
been checked, usually about 9pm.
- Friday, May 26 6-9pm, and Saturday, May 27 1-430pm. Same as
Thursday, except students expected to turn in their costumes and props, and
help clean up from show. Occasionally, there has been a cast party organized
by students/parents. Please contact Mme. OReilly if you are interested in
