Feedback - Nov. 30 grade level meetings

4th grade Fab Four- We discussed:
*we are going to continue to use the benchmark tests but will be breaking them into smaller segments over the quarter
* YES we want the online assessment program the cost reflects a valuation of our time and per teacher it is less expensive than the buy
back days needed to hand score tests
* regarding the report card many parents expressed concern over the range of "progressing "61% to 90% the expectation that "met"
means 91% seems rather unattainable where is the spot for the "average" student (we are eliminating the middle class :0
* we are excited about the comprehension coach 6 headset/mic sets per class would be plenty

Discussion regarding the C E P M percentages. The progressing range is too wide. Its especially a problem
in math. We talked about narrowing the range, but are concerned about changing it mid-year. What about
changing it, but agreeing not to mark a student lower on a standard that was already assessed.

Do we want to set five as the minimum number of questions to evaluate a standard? Well have to find the
questions somewhere!
The new range we are proposing:
0 - 39 = Concern (0/5, 1/5)
40 - 69 = Emerging (2/5, 3/5)
70 - 89 = Progressing (4/5)
90 - 100 = Met (5/5)

Blue note out at spring conference to let parents know their child is not at grade level, but will not be retained.
