Data Source: Create a project for your class to do either alone or with other
classes in the grade that does something for the community: Designate jobs
or roles for this project, and include yourself.
It should have the title of the project, its objective: why are you doing it, jobs to
be done, communication such as flyers or posters, length of time to do it.The
jobs and roles show responsible student behavior.
You may set it up any way that you like or follow this idea:

KPS Gardening Project!!


Teacher: Ms. Pauley
Class/Grade: Kindergarten, KP
School: Woodrow Wilson
Project: Planting flowers
Objective: to make the community look even more
beautiful
Time: 1:00-2:00pm
Procedure:
1. Ms. Pauley checks that all supplies is on the bus as well
as bottled waters and a snack.
2. Once checked, the students board the bus and Ms. Pauley
does roll call.
3. Once roll call is done the bus departs from Woodrow to the
garden.
4. Once arrived Ms. Pauley gives the assigned groups of five
their jobs.
5. Head down to the garden and start planting
6. To plant flowers: Dig a small hole with shovel, then put
flower inside hole, cover the base with soil, then lightly
water the soil and flower but not too much.
7. After all flowers have been planted, go back to the bus, do
roll call, eat snacks and go back to school.

Jobs or roles:
One group of five is in charge of bringing shovels.
One group of five is in charge of bringing the watering
cans.
One group of five is in charge of counting to see if we
have the correct amount of flowers.
One group of five is in charge of bringing the work gloves.
One group of five is in charge of leading the other groups
(Line leaders) and Ms. Pauley to the garden.
The teacher (Ms. Pauley) is in charge of carrying the soil
bags.
EVERY student will plant their own flower!!
