describe the movement of particles in solids, liquids, gases, and plasma states when thermal energy is added or removed. c. Plan
and carry out investigations to compare and contrast chemical (i.e., reactivity, combustibility) and physical (i.e., density, melting
point, boiling point) properties of matter.

Brief Description of Learning Experience:

This project will have the students choosing an element on the periodic table and having them create a video on how it goes
through different phase change. This video should be under 3 minutes in length and include some type of audio and live action
video along with pictures. It should take them 1-2 weeks depending on the academic level of the class. After the students
complete their videos they will be posted to the classroom blog to be accessible to people outside of the classroom.

The students videos will be assessed by me first and then they can be viewed by others online and be
commented on. This way students will be able to get feedback from a wider range of people than just
me as their teacher. They will also be able to view each others and receive peer feedback.

Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking:

This would be a level 4 on the LoTi scale because the students would be creating original video and audio content that they
would then be sharing on the class blog page in order to reach a wider audience outside of the classroom.

Importance of technology:
They have to have the tools in order to create the video. As it is a project that requires them to create a video based around an
element on the periodic table of elements.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:

The concern is that student work will be available to people outside of the classroom. I will have all of
the parents sign release forms agreeing to let students publish their work online. I will also have the
blog set up so the students names will not be visible. Students whose parents do not want their work
posted will not be posted.
