The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)

Hi, Im Muhammad Rokhmat Fauzi, a few days ago I watched an amazing movie, and
I want to share about this amazing movie, the tittle is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,
there is a meaningful message inside the story. Walter Mitty is an employee in a magazine
publisher named LIFE. He is a daydreamer, oftenly he fall in his imagination about
something that he want to do but never been done. He showed as coward, but has a great
work, he working as Negative Assets Manager, he checks the negatives from the
photographers. One of the most famous photographer is Sean OConnell, he is a free travel
photographer, Sean live nomaden and even doesnt has phone, he treat Walter as his best
partner.

Walter always finish his job excellently until one day LIFE Magazine will transform
into online based magazine and will publish the last printed edition with Seans photo as its
cover. Sean send the photo roll together with wallet as a gift for Walter for his best work all
the time. On the wallet written the motto of LIFE Magazine, it says To see the world,
things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to
feel. That is the purpose of life. Sean said that he want the 25th photo that will set as the
cover, but when Walter check the negatives, the 25th not in its place. Then he start drawn in
panic because it very important, it is about the cover! So he decide to meet Sean (both of
them never met before). He start to figure out where is Sean, he try to connect the other
photos. Then the adventure begin.

Walter fall in love with his friend named Cheryl. He oftenly daydreaming about her,
kissing her, saying love etc but doesnt has enough guts to make it real. After make some
investigations he found that one of the photo taken in Greenland, so he go to Greenland. In
Greenland he meet the drunky guy, he is a postman, this guys thumb picture also taken by
Sean in the roll, and he said that Sean in the ship that he want to go to. This guy will fly the
helicopter in drunk, so Walter start to be afraid, but after some minutes thinking, he dreams
about Cheryl singing Mayor Tom so it makes Walter decide to continue the journey. When

he want to jump to the ship, he makes a wrong jump so he gets into the freezing ocean, and
there is a shark there. He hits the shark every time its coming. So he survive.

On the ship, he found Seans schedule on a piece of paper, the place is refer to the
vulcano in Iceland, the time is the next day, and in top of Himalaya. So he go to Iceland and
almost dead because of an eruption, but he survive. He back to his home, he fired from LIFE
than he throw the wallet into the garbage. He look to the other photo from Sean and found out
that it was his moms piano, then his mom said maybe Sean in Himalaya to see the rarest
moment, it was Himalaya Cat also known as ghost cat because its rarity, so he decide to go
there and make a journey to Himalaya that he never done before. There, he meet Sean and
have some conversation and he know that the 25 th negative is inside the wallet, he also see the
rarest moment when a ghost cat show its self. Sean doesnt take the picture of it because he
enjoy the moment for him self and never share it to another people except Walter. Then
Walter back to his town and give the negative to LIFE magazine before the last printed
edition launched. And the 25th negative is a picture of Walter working outside the office.
