It is important to understand learning styles, so that when interacting with students, know
how to better approach their learning. It is also very important to use their specific learning style
so that the lesson and teachings stay with them. There are 8 different styles of learning that help
students prosper in education. Word smart, number/reasoning smart, picture smart, body smart,
music smart, people smart, self smart, and nature smart. Each type of learning style bring
linguistic learner. This means I like to read, write and tell stories. Im good at memorizing
names, places, dates, and trivia. The best way I learn is by saying, hearing, and seeing words.
When approaching verbal or linguistic students, it is better to use storytelling to explain material,
conducting a debate, or writing a poem or a short play. Different learning styles vary by students,
even teachers have their own effective way of learning. It would be very hard for a number smart
teacher, to teach a word smart student. It would be most effective to place a students with a
teacher with the same learning style. After all, not every child learns the same, and not every
