School of Education Selection Committee

Chico State University
400 West First Street
Chico, CA 95929

Dear Selection Committee,

Please accept this letter as my recommendation for Emily Kraemer as a candidate for the Multiple
Subjects Program at Chico State University. Emily is a former Chico State student of mine in an upper
division course that she attended during the fall semester of 2016. Her performance within the class was
exemplary and she earned an outstanding grade by completing all assignments with quality.

In addition to producing quality assignments, Emily participated in each class session and contributed to
the classroom discussion. She often asked follow-up questions to broaden her understanding of concepts
and also expanded upon the concepts by contemplating how the concepts related to students, family
members, and the community. Emily demonstrated a clear understanding of classroom differentiation and
understood that students are individual learners. She expressed an interest in using accommodations and
helping all students access their curriculum. She also demonstrated a desire to create a positive classroom
environment in order to maximize learning potential and to make students feel safe. Her sincerity and
passion towards education and service to students is easily recognizable.

As a school psychologist/program specialist that has worked with many different teachers, I recognize
that Emily exhibits many characteristics and skills that would qualify her as a good candidate for a
classroom teacher. Emily also demonstrated learning aptitude and a desire to acquire additional
knowledge and information that would be a means to improve her service to students. She will no doubt
be a strong student and an asset to the program. Thank you for considering Emily Kraemer for the
program.

Sincerely,
