Learning Objectives:

To familiarize students with the concept of the fundamentals of a brand.

Learning outcomes:
This activity will help students to understand that why it is necessary to learn about the
fundamentals of brand and its practical implementations.

Scenario:

Customers while shopping observe brands as the most crucial element. A strong brand
relationship is developed in consumers minds by the values or attributes they perceive. Now-a-
days customers have become more distinctive with respect to their personality. They like clothes
which suit their personality and reflect their social class. Trendy and fashionable apparels have
now become more demanding among a broader range of individuals from different socio-
economic groups, which is directly linked with the growth of focused competitors to provide
branded products that reflects their values.

Alkaram Studio (a renowned clothing brand of Pakistan) was more focused upon generating
revenues and product oriented in the past. With the passage of time and advent of new clothing
brands in the market, Alkaram Studio observed decrease in customer loyalty and a reduction in
market value. Indeed, it was a challenging and thought provoking situation for Alkaram to cope
with the situation and getting back its past renowned position. After making certain changes and
implementing workable strategies Alkaram has now gained its past position to a great extent.
Requirements:

Being a student of Brand Management, discuss that how Alkaram Studio would have changed
its values to compete and regain its past position in the market place?
