COURSE NAME : ELEMENTARY STATISTICS
PREREQUISITE : NIL

1. SYNOPSIS

To discuss basic aspects in statistics including: sampling, data collection and


descriptive data, central tendency and dispersion measurement, probabilities, random
variables, probability distributions and sampling distributions.

2. OBJECTIVES

After completing this course, the students expected to:

2.1 master some basic concept of statistics.


2.2 solve problem related to the probability, some special probability
distribution, and sampling distribution.
2.3. apply and interpret the concepts of distribution into some real
problems.

3. LEARNING OUTCOMES

After completing this course, the students should be able to:

3.1 explain the basic concept of statistics and its application in real life.(C2, P1,

3.2 describe the data whether in terms of presenting or measuring statistical
value and its interpretation. (C3, P2, A3)
3.3 find and interpret the probability special distribution. (C3, P4, A3)
3.4 solve problem in findings the probabilities and to construct the probability
distribution for discrete random variables. (C3, P3, A3)
3.5 calculate the probability of sample statistic. (C4, P4, A3)
