ROUND ROBIN:

A FAT KNIGHT SPINOFF

ROUGH CONCEPT

int.- Following the events that occurred in The Fat Knight, the Fat Knight
and Bane are just talking. No fighting, no arguing; they are just talking it
out. Batman and Bane are sitting in a pizza parlor, eating, while they try
and resolve their differences. Thinking everything is going swimmingly, Bane
starts to laugh and joke about Batmans weight. Batman punches Bane in the
face, which he was planning to do anyway. He leaves Banes body in the parlor
and then calls Commissioner Gordon to come and pick him up.

OPENING SCENE
BANE
You know, the mushroom pie here isnt half bad.

BATMAN
Told ya. I come here almost everyday and get the same thing, mushrooms.

BANE
Oh! So thats how you became a Goodyear Blimp. *laughs*

BATMAN
*angrily*
After Alfred, I-I just put on some weight. This comforts me.

BANE
*sarcastically*
Yeah, right. Blame the dead guy.

BATMAN
*offended*
Excuse me?

BANE
Blame Alfred because you couldnt put down the fork.

BATMAN
*punches Bane in the face*
DONT talk about Alfred.
*Calls Jim Gordans office*
Gordan, this is Batman. Bane will be tied up in Robinson Park. Come pick him
up.
-Batman looks down at Bane, looks up, sees a girl walking and looking at him,
grabs and extends cape.
BATMAN
IM BATMAN!
*Cut to black*

*ROUND ROBIN*

(SCENE TWO)
*As Batman starts to leave the scene he receives a call from his partner,
Robin (Jason Todd). Robin asks him is the job went okay and if everything is
done. Batman tells him yes and that they dont have to worry about Bane any
longer. Robin then tells Batman that he wont be able to help him this
upcoming week because he has school and finals. Batman tells him that it
isnt a problem and he wishes Robin luck on school.

ATMAN
B
*Batmans cell phone rings.
Hello?

ROBIN
Hey, boss. Howd everything go?

BATMAN
Banes taken care of.

ROBIN
Thats awesome! thats one less problem to worry about.

BATMAN
Well, just because Banes put away doesnt mean we wont have to protect the
city.

ROBIN
*rolls eyes towards the phone*
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I was making a joke! *chuckles* Oh, and by the way,
I wont be able to help you this week. I have finals and I really need to
study.

BATMAN
Dont worry about it! Ill be okay for five days by myself. Good luck.
 ROBIN
Thanks, boss. See you soon.
*hangs up*

(SCENE THREE)
The next day, Jason Todd (Robin) is sitting in the library studying with some
of his friends, when Batman calls him. His phone began to ring loud and that
caught everyones attention. He covers his phone and leans down and answers
it.

JASON
*whispering*
Hello?

BATMAN
*talking loudly*
Hey, what are you doing?

JASON
*sarcastically*
Um, well, its 10:37 AM on a Monday. Where do you think I am?

BATMAN
Pizza Hut?

JASON
Uh, no, Im in school. What do you need?

BATMAN
Well, do you wanna go to pizza hut?

JASON
NO!
*hangs up phone*

*Librarian tells Jason to be quiet. She shushes Jason.

(SCENE FOUR)

The next morning, Jason is walking in the hall with a bunch of his friends on
their way to his locker, and they start to talk about Batman. Robin begins to
get uncomfortable because they all dont know who he truly is, Batmans
sidekick. They start joking about his weight and Robin intervenes.

FRIEND #1
So, has anyone heard anything about Batman lately?

FRIEND #2
Well someone took pics of Batman and Bane eating pizza in the park yesterday,
like they were on a date or something!

FRIEND #1
*laughs* Hes so fat! Maybe instead of saving people, he should try and start
saving himself-

JASON
Yo, guys. Enough. Yea, he put on some some weight but the guys a legend. I
dont see either of you two saving people from Bane, now, do I?

FRIEND #2
Alright, damn. Youre acting like you want to date him, Jason. Calm down.

JASON
Well, I, I-I dont know him, but, to go off on a guy who saved the city, and
saved your asses in the process, is really rude.

FRIEND #2
What are you like, in love with him? You want to be his next robin?

JASON
Whatever, guys. Ill see you later.
*leaves*

FRIEND #1
*looks at friend #2*
What was his issue?

FRIEND #2
Who knows? Maybe he really is in love with him.
*The boys start to laugh and walk away.
 (SCENE FIVE)
That same day, Jason is in his math class taking his algebra final. He gets
another calls from Bruce. His phone is in his bag and he doesnt touch it,
but it keeps going off. So, he sneakily takes out his phone, but before he
has the chance to do anything, the teacher calls him out.

JASON
*hears the phone ringing and tries to ignore it*
*everyone, including the teacher is looking at him*
*not knowing that the teacher is looking at him, he takes out his phone*

MR. BAKER
TODD! GET UP HERE! BRING YOUR PAPER!

JASON
*walks up to the teachers desk*
Yes, Mr. Baker?

MR. BAKER
What do you think youre doing? Thats cheating and you- *takes his paper and
rips it up*
-just failed your exam. Congradulations.

JASON
But-

MR.BAKER
No excuses!
*Mr. Baker begins to call discipline and he tells Jason to go and sit down.*

(SCENE SIX)
That night, Jason goes to Batmans (right now, Bruce Wayne) house to confront
him about what happened.

JASON
BRUCE!

BRUCE
*chokes*
Dammit, Jason. I almost choked to death.

-Jason enters the Batcave and notices a half eaten mushroom pizza sitting on
the table.
 JASON
What the hell?

BRUCE
What? You dont like mushrooms?

JASON
What did I tell you?

BRUCE
About what?

JASON
What did I tell you the other day? I have finals this week.

BRUCE
So?

JASON
So, Im not reachable. So, why did you call me in the middle of class? So,
what was so important that you needed MY help?

BRUCE
*Batman voice*
Because I needed to catch a criminal

JASON
Bruce, were in the cave. Enough with the Bat voice.

BRUCE
Oh, sorry. *hesitant* I couldnt catch him.

JASON
Why?

BRUCE
Im-Im sorry, Jason. He was too fast on foot. I tried but I just couldnt
catch him...

JASON
 Well if you stopped eating so much damn pizza, and exercise more, youd be
able to catch bad guys on foot.

BRUCE
Well Im sorry! Im not that thin anymore!

JASON
Thats not my problem! You did that to yourself!

BRUCE
He took her pearls, Jason, and I couldnt catch him! Her pearls!
*Bruce begins to openly weep and reaches for a slice of pizza.*

JASON
Okay, I get it. Bruce, put the pizza down. Im going to help you become
Batman again. We are going to work out everyday and no woman will ever get
robbed of her pearls again!

BRUCE
Youre right Jason! Can we start now?

JASON
Lets do it!

*MONTAGE - Bruce and Jason working out. Bruce struggles with the easiest
exercises.*
BRUCE
Can we stop? Im winded!

JASON
Yes, Bruce we can stop. You did a whole five minutes today and thats a good
start.

BRUCE
Im going to take a nap so I can be on the prowl tonight.

JASON
Okay, Ill watch the monitors for any activity. Ill wake you if I need to.

BRUCE
Thanks, Jason, for everything.

JASON
 No problem Bruce.

*Jason is sitting in front of a computer studying when a message pops up on

the screen.*
JOKER
*voice over*
Hello! This is a message to the dynamic dimwits! Joker, here with a new
sidekick friend of mine. She is a thin, little devil with an iron heart named
Jeannie, who's ready to out a thumpin on anyone standing in my way! Shes my
favorite crowbar! And shes having a field day with random Gothamites! So if
you want to find me then follow the trail of headaches! HAHAHAHA!!!!!

*Jason looks over to Bruce who is sound asleep.

JASON
*says to himself*
You sleep buddy. I got this one.

*Jason stands up and puts on his Robin costume and mask.

JASON
Time to save the city.

*Jason exits the shot and camera pans down to Bruce sleeping soundly.*
*Cut to black*
*Joker laughs manicly.*
