Le franais

Ami du jour Please refer to the schedule for the month of June. As of June 15th there will no longer be a friend
of the day. We will all take turns helping out

Les themes This month themes are focused summer, the ocean and vacation! We are learning how to write in
our writers workshop and reviewing the alphabet through our countdown! You can help at home by discussing
what we have been doing for our themes, and asking for French vocabulary that your child has learned.

La lecture Keep up the great work reading at home en franais! The best way for your child to learn a new
language is for him/her to be exposed/immersed in that language as much as possible. Reading at home en
franais can make an enormous difference in your childs ability to learn French and will contribute to a higher
level of reading ability and comprehension.

Les sciences humaines et les sciences naturelles

Les science humaines We have been focusing on the natural sciences.

Les sciences naturelles The butterflies are transforming and once we finish off insects we will turn our focus
towards marine life. You can help at home by asking about the French vocabulary that your child has learned
about the ocean animals and about how our potatoes turned out.

Les mathmatiques
Les maths We are currently reviewing numbers in addition to what was already being covered on a daily basis
within the class routine. We will also learn about money this month and if there is time we will study probability
and graphing! You can help at home by encouraging your child to count, and show number representation on a
daily basis. They wont even know they are reinforcing their learning because they will be so proud to show you
what they know!

Lducation Physique
Students are practicing their replays to get ready for Fun day is which is just around the corner; we hope to see
you there! You can help by discussing the importance of staying active and by asking what we have been doing in
PE.

Daily Physical Activity

Since the weather is cooperating we will often go outside for a run!

La planification personnelle
Students have been practicing to be ready for grade one. You can help at home by asking your child what they
have been doing to be prepared (i.e. participating in calendar and carpet times, completing their work in a neat
and timely manner, listening to directions and following class rules).

Les arts plastiques

We will be focusing on a fathers day project and will create some art work about summer and the ocean. You can
help at home by encouraging you childs interest in arts and crafts and by asking what we are working on at
school.
