In this evidence you are going to read an article about the way people around
the world spend their vacations. Then you have to do a description about the
way people spend their vacations in your country and answer the questions. /

sus vacaciones alrededor del mundo. Luego debe hacer una descripcin sobre
cmo son las vacaciones en su pas y responder las preguntas.

Vacations around the world

Vacation time is a very important part in the life of all people in the world.
People from different cultures spend their vacations in different ways. The
number of vacation days ranges from 10 to 30, being the Europeans such as
Germans, French and Swede the luckiest for having 30 days of vacations; the
Latin American countries with a big number of vacation days are Brazil, Panama
and Peru with 25 days. The unluckiest country is China having just 10 days and
being vacations not mandatory. Taking into account this aspect, people can
decide what to do and how to enjoy their vacations. Lets see what people from
Germany, Brazil and China say about their future vacations.

What are you going to do in your next vacations?

Lauren Freudberger (Germany)

I want to visit some friends all along
Europe. First, Im going to France to
visit my friend Jan Pierre in Lion, Im
staying for a couple of weeks there.
Then I would like to go to Italy to visit
my cousin Florentina, Im going to
Venice with her. Finally, I want to go

Well Im planning to go to Rio and
spend a week there, I have my
girlfriend there and we are meeting
the first week. Then I want to know
Colombia. I havent been there and
my friend told me is a great
destination. Finally I am staying
home and rest for the last week

travel, I want to sleep late, Im going
to eat out with my family, and Im
going to buy some things that I need

B. Based on the previous article, answer the following questions: / Basado en

1. Which aspects do you think play an important role in deciding what to do

on vacations?
I think that choosing to do on vacation depends on three very important factors,
the first is the time you have, the second with whom to travel and the third is the
money that counts. This way they can choose the activities to be carried out
more easily.
2. What do people like to do the most on their vacations?
When talking about this we must understand that there are too many tastes
between people, but one of the biggest activities known for the holidays is
traveling, but other people take advantage to rest, and to be in family.
3. Which plan do you like the most and why?
Personally I really like Lauren's plan because it gives her an opportunity to be with
her friends, another with her relatives and at the same time know several places,
for me it is the perfect plan. Know and be with whom you love.

C. Write a short paragraph about how is the vacation time in your country.
Include information such as the typical number of days a person gets for
vacations, the most common activities people do, and the famous places
people visit. / Escriba un prrafo corto acerca de cmo son las vacaciones
 en su pas. Incluya informacin como el nmero tpico de das que una
persona tiene para vacaciones, las actividades ms comunes que las
personas hacen, y los sitios famosos que la gente visita.

In Colombia the holidays are between 15 or 20 days. People here are

accustomed to leaving home and going to places to relax, such as inns,
while those who have more money to spend travel longer than the beach, or
take advantage to leave the country.
In Colombia there are several tourist places like Cartagena, some beaches
in Santa Marta, San Andres and Isla Gorgona, cities with much history like
Bogota, Popayn, Quindio, towns like Villa de Leyva, Santa fe of Antioquia,
among others.
