Answer for ICANHASGREATMUSIC
Grump Kids is, apparently, a derogatory term for "lovelies" (official name of th
e Game Grumps fans). It's lovelies who are responsible for raids like this. They
yeah, they've even done some atrocious shit (the controversy around episode 32
of the Sonic Adventure DX playthrough as an example). Despite this, there's a go
od amount of creative lovelies that actually formed a decent part of Game Grumps
culture (Game Grumps Animated and Game Grumps Remixes are their own genres on Y
ouTube, I actually came to know and love Game Grumps through Animated's that wer
e done in Gmod and SFM)?

Sad? SAD? WTF is wrong with everyone. Everybody all over Youtube, looking up
any song that doesn't have pumpy beats and squeaky vocals and automatically it's
all "SAD". Weepy horror! Darlings, there are allll kinds of emotions for whic
h we humble humans have no name at all. God didn't give us an instruction manual
for the amygdala. This isn't sadness. It's just.... this song's feeling. It
only happens here. That's why music. For true feelings with no names. Believ

Imo this song is sad. but so much more than that haha. Lyrics aside, its a myste

I agree. The lyrics are sad. I did think at one point or another that it's sad b
ut at the same time, the tune is mysterious.I used to call it fantasy but myster
ious is a better word. It's much more than a "sad song".?

Kurt Rosenwinkel
Kurt Rosenwinkel (born October 28, 1970) is an American jazz guitarist.
He is considered one of the most influential guitarists of his generation.
Biography
Rosenwinkel attended the Berklee College of Music for two and a half years befor
e leaving in his junior year to tour with Gary Burton, the dean of the school at
the time. Subsequently, Rosenwinkel moved to Brooklyn, where began performing w
ith Human Feel, Paul Motian's Electric Bebop Band, Joe Henderson Group, and the
Brian Blade Fellowship. During that time he began using a Lavalier lapel microph
one fed into his guitar amplifier that blends his vocalizing with his guitar much
like George Benson, and Pat Metheny and has become a trademark of his sound, both
live and in the studio.
In 1995 he won the Composer's Award from the National Endowment for the Arts and
was signed by Verve Records. Since then, he has played and recorded as both a l
eader and sideman with Mark Turner, Brad Mehldau, Joel Frahm, and Brian Blade, a
s well as many others. During Rosenwinkel's tenure with Verve he collaborated wi
th Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, who co-produced his studio album Heartcore tha
t features bassist Ben Street, drummer Jeff Ballard, and saxophonist Mark Turner
. He would further collaborate with Q-Tip, performing guitar on the latter's alb
ums The Renaissance and Kamaal/The Abstract.

Deep Song
Deep Song is Kurt Rosenwinkel's sixth album as a band leader. The album features
a new band, composed of pianist Brad Mehldau, tenor saxophonist Joshua Redman,
bassist Larry Grenadier, and drummers Ali Jackson and Jeff Ballard. While the al
l-star cast appearing on the record was seen as an attempt at commercial success
, the players had all previously worked together and were part of the undergroun
d jazz scene in New York City during the 1990s. Among the tracks on Deep Song ar
e two jazz standards, "If I Should Lose You" and "Deep Song". Of the eight origi
nal compositions on Deep Song, three were previously recorded and appeared on Th
e Next Step and The Enemies of Energy.

Billie Holiday
Eleanora Fagan (April 7, 1915 July 17, 1959), professionally known as Billie Hol
iday, was an American jazz musician and singer-songwriter with a career spanning
nearly thirty years. Nicknamed "Lady Day" by her friend and music partner Leste
r Young, Holiday had a seminal influence on jazz music and pop singing. Her voca
l style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered a new way of mani
pulating phrasing and tempo. Holiday was known for her vocal delivery and improv
isation skills, which made up for her limited range and lack of formal music edu
cation.
After a turbulent childhood, Holiday began singing in nightclubs around Harlem.
After being heard by producer John Hammond, who commended her voice, Holiday was
signed to Brunswick Records in 1935. Collaborations with Teddy Wilson yielded t
he hit "What a Little Moonlight Can Do", which would later become a jazz standar
d. Throughout the 1930s and 1940s, Holiday booked mainstream success with labels
such as Columbia Records and Decca Records. By the late 1940s, however, Holiday
was beset with legal troubles and drug abuse. After a short prison sentence, Ho
liday performed a sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall. However, due to her drug an
d alcohol problems, her reputation deteriorated.

kel attended the Berklee School of Music for two and a half years before leaving
in his junior year to tour with Gary Burton, the dean of the school at the time
. Subsequently, he moved to Brooklyn where he continued to develop his jazz guit
ar skills by performing with Human Feel, Paul Motian's Electric Bebop Band, Joe
Henderson Group, and the Brian Blade Fellowship. During that time he began using
a Lavalier lapel microphone fed into his guitar amplifier [1] that blends his v
ocalizing with his guitar and has become a trademark of his sound both live and
in the studio. In 1995 he won the Composer's Award from the National Endowment f
or the Arts and was eventually signed by Verve Records. Since then he has played
and recorded as both a leader and sideman with fellow-alumni such as Mark Turne
r and Brad Mehldau as well as many others. During his tenure with Verve he colla
borated with Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest who co-produced his studio album Hear
tcore (2003) which featured bassist Ben Street, drummer Jeff Ballard and saxopho
nist Mark Turner and was a departure from the usual compositional process for Ro
senwinkel, blending elements of jazz, rock, hip hop and electronica. He would fu

sance (2008) and Kamaal/The Abstract (2009). Rosenwinkel has since released a do
uble live album as a band leader. The album is entitled The Remedy - Live at the
Village Vanguard (2008) and features Mark Turner, Aaron Goldberg, Joe Martin an
d Eric Harland. On November 10, 2009, Rosenwinkel released a trio recording: Sta
ndards Trio: Reflections (2009) which features Eric Revis on bass and Eric Harla
nd on drums. On September 7, 2010 he released his ninth album as a leader entitl
ed Kurt Rosenwinkel & OJM: Our Secret World (2010) and features OJM an 18 piece
big band from Porto, Portugal. Originally from Philadelphia, Kurt Rosenwinkel cu
rrently resides in Berlin, Germany raising his two sons Silas and Ezra and servi

el is known for his distinct sound and style of improvisation. He describes his
influences as artists as diverse as Allan Holdsworth, George Van Eps, Duke Ellin
gton, John Coltrane, Bud Powell, and Elmo Hope and The Notorious B.I.G.[ Kurt si
multaneously utilizes a wide variety of effects units, each with a very specific
function and effect on the guitar's sound. Included in his pedal chain is the P
ro Co RAT distortion, TC Electronic reverb, Lehle D. Loop effect-loop/switcher,
Electro-Harmonix HOG polyphonic guitar synthesizer, two Empress ParaEq equalizer
s, Eventide TimeFactor delay, four Xotic X-Blender effects loops, Empress Tremol
o, Lehle Parallel line mixer, TC Electronic SCF stereo chorus flanger, and Boss
Corporation OC-3 octave, among others. Most often seen playing his D'Angelico Ne

995 in Portland, Maine. Kurt Rosenwinkel (guitar/composition), Mark Turner (saxo
phone), Ben Street (bass), Falk Willis (drums) This was a live concert recorded
with one microphone, so the recording quality is modest. Still, Kurt, Mark & Ben
were already killing it back in the day. ;) Enjoy! Jazz Guitarist Kurt Rosenwin
kel attended the Berklee School of Music for two and a half years before leaving
in his junior year to tour with Gary Burton, the dean of the school at the time
He would fu
rther collaborate with Q-Tip performing guitar on the latter's albums The Renais
sance (2008) and Kamaal/The Abstract (2009).
Originally from Philadelphia, Kurt Rosenwinkel cu
rrently resides in Berlin, Germany raising his two sons Silas and Ezra and servi
ng as professor of jazz guitar at the Hochschule fr Musik Hanns Eisler. Rosenwink
el is known for his distinct sound and style of improvisation. He describes his
influences as artists as diverse as Allan Holdsworth, George Van Eps, Duke Ellin
gton, John Coltrane, Bud Powell, and Elmo Hope and The Notorious B.I.G.[ Kurt si
multaneously utilizes a wide variety of effects units, each with a very specific
function and effect on the guitar's sound. Included in his pedal chain is the P
ro Co RAT distortion, TC Electronic reverb, Lehle D. Loop effect-loop/switcher,
Electro-Harmonix HOG polyphonic guitar synthesizer, two Empress ParaEq equalizer
s, Eventide TimeFactor delay, four Xotic X-Blender effects loops, Empress Tremol
o, Lehle Parallel line mixer, TC Electronic SCF stereo chorus flanger, and Boss
Corporation OC-3 octave, among others. Most often seen playing his D'Angelico Ne
w Yorker semi-hollow guitar, Kurt also plays a Sadowsky semi-hollow, a cherry re

2. Broadway Street (Rhythm Section Only) - Alto Version

Along with Gene Ammons and Stanley Turrentine, Dexter Gordon was one of the top
ballad players of the '60s. Having already made his name in the bebop era and as
an expatriate in Europe, Gordon returned to the States to record a series of fi
ne Blue Note discs during the first half of the decade. This edition of the labe
l's Ballads series features Gordon at his peak and in the company of some of har
d bop's best players. Whether melding nicely with trumpeter Donald Byrd from a P
aris date in 1964 ("Darn That Dream") or locking in with the stellar rhythm sect
ion of Sonny Clark, Butch Warren, and Billy Higgins ("Don't Explain"), Gordon de
livers his almost sleepy and smoke-filled solos with regal grace. The same can a
lso be said of the rest of this incredible program, including a latter-day live
cut from 1978. A perfect set for those in need of a provocative after-hours sess
ion in front of the stereo.

You confused "combination tone" with "difference tone." Combination tones appea
r in pitches higher than two fundamentals. You can add the frequencies, or add
the ordinal numbers on the harmonic series where the lower note of the two funda
mentals is "1st." For example, if you played a C and a G an octave and a fifth
higher simultaneously, the combination tone would be a C two octaves above the f
undamental C. Why? C is #1 on the harmonic series starting on C, and G is #3. Th
e combination tone would be #4 on that series, which is C two octaves higher tha
n the low C. Difference tones are found by subtracting these ordinal numbers.
For example, take the major third ratio - 5:4. This means that the two notes th
at form a major third on the harmonic series are in the fourth and fifth positio
ns. If you were to play a D and an F#, the difference tone would be 5 - 4 = 1,
so the 1st position on the given harmonic series. To find this, you have to kind
of work backwards to figure out what the first fundamental is of this mystery h
armonic series. In this case, it would be another D two octaves below the D in
the major third. TL;DR - combination tones are higher, difference tones are low
er, and they only occur when intervals are beatless (pure).?
9
Simon Gunkel
Simon Gunkel5 days ago
Combination tone is a more general term, the higher one is the sum tone, the low
er one is the difference tone. These are psychoacoustic, your brain fills in "mi
ssing frequencies", as sounds that occur in nature are either unpitched or monop
honic. But it is worth noting that there's also a physical phenomenon that can p
roduce such sidebands. If you have non-linear transmission of sound and you add
two signals A and B, you get terms of the form A*B, which by a bit of algebra ar
e just the differences and sums of any partials. So if A and B were sine signals
at frequencies a and b, this would just be sines at a+b and |a-b|. One of class
ic cases is distorted guitar, where you get very complex signals and fuzz+Jazz c
hords is often a recipe for something that is hard to stomach.
It's also worth noting that beats are in fact a form of difference tone...?
Andreas Valkare
Andreas Valkare5 days ago
The fundamental is the GCD (greatest common divisor) between the sounding notes,
in Adam's example of 440 and 660 it's 220 (220*2 and 220*3). However the effect
is easily lost or at least lessened if the notes have rich overtone series them
selves, then it sounds more like two separate notes. I've heard that that's why
tuning to flutes together is so very hard because of relatively weak overtones t
he can often create subharmonic tones, Just try an interval like a major second
on two recorders at the same time, you'll hear all sorts of crazy bass notes dep
ending on how you tune them.?

Do you think that jazz or some variant of improvised music will become popular a
gain? Do you even think that it would be good for the art if it did? (with it be
ing subjected to extreme commercialization) I've always just thought that most p
eople when they talk about the era of jazz as the popular music seem too nostalg
ic or praising of it. I feel that the less popular bebop era sent the genre into
way less popularity but also gave it many new artistic dimensions impossible un
der the limelight of mainstream music.?
9
Wheelly
Wheelly4 days ago (edited)
Sherman Thompson you know, I have recently heard to Jazz at Massey. It was recor
ded in 1953 and it had already had all the modern jazz features by that moment.
Mingus even used some rhythmic displacements that are not widely used until toda
y. Not speaking about crazy solos of Parker and Gillespie.
And it was 64 years ago. Do you understand what I mean? Those titans have invent
ed something radically new, and then we have 60 years of repeats. This style has
already became classical. And when something is classical, it is no more contem
porary.
So bebop took it's place on the musical Olympus, but I think it is not sane to s
peak of it as of something, that could be popular again in the feature.
As to others styles of jazz, then yes, they are quite popular and continue influ
encing on most genres. Hip-hip, for instance, share much in common of its roots
with acid jazz. If you ask some Rock stars who are they listen to, you will be a
mazed how many of them will mention some jazz greats like Miles or Mclaughlin. I
don't think jazz will be like popular music, but it definitely lives and fertil
ize others genres till today, as any classical music.?

Re: Good/Bad Music
I had a teacher back in college who made the following argument, which has basic
ally become my way of thinking about the good/bad distinction about art in gener
al.
Whether art is good or bad is fundamentally the wrong question. There may be som
e objective scale, but that scale is comprised of a dozen different variables al
l living on their own dimension, and it's much more interesting to talk about th
ose dimensions, rather than the aggregate. You can talk about whether or not the
thing is 'emotional' or 'stoic', you can ask about it's 'gravitas' versus it's
'frivolity', but ultimately the biggest contributor to whether or not something
is 'good' or 'bad' art, I think, is whether it is successful. The artist, author
, musician, whoever has, ostensibly, some artistic intent with their art. They w
ant to elicit some emotion, accomplish some technical feat, etc. One of the most
valuable things you can consider is whether or not the succeeded. You can term
this "Authorial success." You might also consider what you expected from the art
, and if you received what you hoped for, or were surprised by something better,
or disappointed by something worse; you might call that "Subjective success". T
here are a million kinds of success. For some people, Turkish Microtonal Guitar
music may sound like total crap; to others, it may sound like home, and succeed
immensely in evoking feelings of nostalgia and pride and homesickness. For those
in the former group, the music was unsuccessful, and while it may sound like th
e musician intended, they may have played it perfectly, for that former group --
the piece was unsuccessful.
One of the most valuable things you can do to expand your appreciation of music
is to not let this 'successfulness' metric dominate the 'good/bad' metric so muc
h. Forcing yourself to disregard those subjective feelings of 'did it work' and
listening instead for the subtler things is hard work, but it means you can enjo
y pieces which otherwise would be 'too hard' to listen to or watch.?

Adam, I am a 17 year old who mainly plays guitar, but have been teaching myself
piano, drums and bass as well. I know limited theory (I know how to figure out i
ntervals, key centers, modes, have a somewhat small understanding of harmonizati
on and that sort of thing (even just saying this proves my lack of knowledge)),
from my highschool's basic music theory class, limited guitar lessons, and rando
m youtube videos, yet my main musical pass time is composition. I write music vi
a picking a key, choosing some notes that sound cool together that are sort of b
ased around that key, then figuring out which chords sound good over them, then
figuring out what those chords actually are, so that I can write melodies and ot
her parts of the song. Theres a chord shape I use frequently with my guitar in d
rop d which stacks three perfect 5ths on top of each other, but I didn't know th
at until I had been using the shape for months (just an example). This probably
makes it seem like I'm just writing simple as hell music (neil young, tom petty
sort of stuff), but you would be mistaken. I try me best to emulate bands like p
orcupine tree, pineapple theif, maybe even a bit of periphery. I feel like this
is all the music theory I need to write awesome music, kinda like how 99% of mat
h that people in non math related jobs will use is stuff they learned before hig
hschool. Do you think that basic music theory is enough to write really good mus
ic, maybe even as a career? I know others would, but you seem like the kind of g
uy who would have an interesting opinion on this.
Love your stuff?

Music theory on its own will not make you a good composer. Music theory is basic
ally an analytical tool - it gives explanations to sounds that are common in mus
ic. It is easier to figure out what's happening in music if you know theory, but
you can of course do it just by using your ears. It's just a bit more abstract
that way. Language is the way we usually make sense of stuff, and music theory i
s about describing music with language.
As long as you have good ideas, it is enough. There are plenty of great musician
s who don't know much about theory (for example The Beatles). But I just don't s
ee a reason not to learn more theory. Learning theory can only improve you as a
musician.
It's kind of the same as asking if only knowing cowboy chords is enough to becom
e a successful musician. Depending on the genre, cowboy chords may be everything
you will ever need, but I wouldn't see a reason not to learn a bit more about p
laying the guitar. It would make you a much more versatile musician.?

Hey Adam, I've been a strings player since I was six(violin, bass, guitar and so
on) and now I'm in a jazz quartet in college. I've really been trying to improv
e my technical skill when it comes to jazz double bass. I know it's pretty commo
n, and I've seen people I play with, take a solo from a Coltrane, Ellington, or
Davis and transpose it in 12 keys; I've tried this on bass and found it pointles
s with the nature of string instruments and the ability to just move positions.
I've recently started teaching myself alto sax because both mentally transposing
down to an Eb instrument as well as doing the 12 key solo exercise should help.
What are your thoughts on this, will it help or just dilute my focus/take away
practice time? I'd love to hear your opinion on the topic since you seem like an
intelligent person on the topic of musical discipline.?

Cam Dore playing something in all keys is also useful on strings - so long as yo
u play vertically in the first couple positions. Being able to play in certain k
eys using first position - like Ab minor - is a very useful skill. Sure, it's ea
sier to play Ab minor in 4th position - but that defeats the point of excercises
like this.?

Have Yo
Be inspired by the lively jazz scene of Rotterdam, home of the world-famous Nort
h Sea Jazz Festival and the Jazz Day. There are many jazz sessions in the city e
very day: great opportunities for gaining stage experience.
Our main subjects are: bass guitar, double bass, drums, flute, guitar, piano, sa
xophone, trombone, trumpet, composition and voice.
The first year is a broad introduction. The focus is on developing your technica
l skills.
You play with two ensembles every week. One concentrates on instrument techn
ique, the other on creating (composition/orchestration).
An important subject this first year is solfge. A well-trained hearing is ind
ispensable in improvisation.
You work at crossovers with students of Latin music to stimulate your versat
ility as a musician.
You study recording techniques and engage in repertoire research. Your new k
nowledge is immediately put to practical use.
During the second year you will become increasingly independent as a performing
musician.
Together with your fellow students you organise various performances and a f
estival in Rotterdam.
You take part in events such as North Sea Round Town and the Jazz Day (the b
iggest jazz networking day of the Netherlands).
You learn how to pass on knowledge in an educational setting by coaching ban
ds of fellow students and/or doing an internship in music education, also for no
n-professionals.
You study a great variety of styles in music and take part in cross-over pro
jects.
You take classes in entrepreneurship and learn how to pitch a project.
The third year s focus is on your own unique personality as a performer.
You choose a number of minors that can help deepen or broaden your profile.
In the ensemble projects, special attention is paid to developing your own s
tyle (from traditional bebop to a modern mix of genres).
Your teachers increasingly become coaches . It is up to you to express what you
wish to learn.
During the second semester you pitch an idea for your graduation research. T
his consists of a theoretical part (a paper) and a practical part (presentation)
. This combination demonstrates that you have a mature view of your profession a
nd are capable of doing research at a high level.
During the fourth year you concentrate on your graduation. You may also choose a
dditional minors.
In the first semester you complete your graduation research.
You produce your own music, resulting in an audio recording and (optionally)
an accompanying video production. This shows what you have learned about record
ing techniques and new media. This project is part of the assessment with regard
to your graduation.
In the second semester you present yourself as a performer at your graduatio
n concert. In roughly an hour you demonstrate your skills and your own unique pe
rsonality.
After your graduation you will be a great musicians with a high artistic and ent
repreneurial level. You are able to create your own place in the music industry
and are active across the entire musical practice. Often you combine different q
ualities: playing in a band or as a soloist, working on music productions or wor
king as a music teacher. During you study you will get to know our extensive net
work in the music industry from which you can benefit after you graduation. Some
of our students continued their studies with a Master of Music.
Rafael Swiddessen (graduation year 2014), drummer with Wolf in Loveland
I m a drummer in the first instance, but I m also interested in the production side o
f the profession. At Codarts I ve gained knowledge of both sides of the profession
. This comes in handy, since I work both as a producer and a musician in several
bands.

No te preocup
es, nuestro servicio es totalmente gratuito
. Necesitamos aproximadamente 3 a 4 minutos por vdeo.
