Ebola, the illness that is raging through West Africa, does not only have effects for humans.
According to Peter Walsh, about 90 to 95 percent of the monkeys he was studying caught the deadly
disease. He believes it is because humans are using more of the space that was once barren and
using it for civilization. Since apes are now catching the sickness as well, it allows an even greater
risk for humans to get it.

According to researchers in Florida, there is a possible connection to the amount of tornadoes

occurring and the climate changes. In 1971, there were 187 days with tornadoes, but in 2013, there
were only 79 days with tornadoes. Although there were less days of tornadoes, when there was a
tornado, it was very severe. Climate change accelerated due to greenhouse gases, which affects how
severe the storm is. This year there have been 189 tornadoes, which shows that tornado frequency
has gone up this year.
