For my Freshman Year service hours I participated in two ongoing volunteer programs, one was

as an altar server for St. Alphonsus Parish in Wexford, PA and the other was through the

Wexford Volunteer Fire Company (228) also in Wexford PA. at St. Alphonsus I would normally

serve that 7:30 AM mass with father Kevin. The Wexford volunteer Fire Company has a junior

firefighter program that usually gets together on Tuesday nights.

I like volunteering as an altar Server at St. Alphonsus because I can participate in the mass. I

really like being on the Altar and assisting Father Kevin. Being an altar sever allows me to be

able to help the community become better in their faith with god and it allows me to grow in my

faith with the lord by seeing the body of Christ up close and not from a distance. We are support

to do gods will and community service is part of that will.

I am a Volunteer firefighter I am a junior member which means that we are not allowed to do

everything the normal firefighter are allowed to do. Like going in the fire what I do at that

another call we can get is a vehicle accident I have to stay in the trucks because I am not 16 yet

but when I turn 16 and have BVR tech I can go out there and help clean up the car if someone is

in an accident we will respond as fast a we can which is pretty fast

It is essential for christens to perform community service is to. Help those in need like the people

that are in truble and need our help to get them out of it
