Methanol containing glycerol is the main by-product of biodiesel production. And
it has an inhibitory effect on the growth of microorganisms. This can be a problem when producing biodiesel using the so called oleaginous microorganisms, which is one of the ways of producing biodiesel. Investigate how those micro-organisms can be utilised in the production of biodiesel, the inhibitory effect of methanol on their growth and how this problem can be rectified.
