What is Biodiesel?

 Biodiesel, abiofuel made primarily from oily

plants and algae and to a lesser extent from
other oily sources (such as waste cooking
fat from restaurant deep-frying). Biodiesel,
which has found greatest acceptance in
Europe, is used in diesel engines and is
usually blended with petroleum diesel fuel in
various percentages. See also renewable
energy.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY.
 PROMOTERS – ARYAN, SACHIN, JAY,RAFFAT,
LAXMI,CHANDRASEKAR,SARITA,ANJALI.

 EXISTING STATUS OF BUSINESS - India has approximately 500

million tonnes of biomass available per year, out of which 120 to
150 million tonnes are in surplus. 12.83% of the total renewable
energy generation is contributed by biofuels alone.

 MANAGEMENT -
PROBLEM – GREENHOUSE GASES EMISSION , TOXIC GASES.

SOLUTION - BIODIESEL

MARKET – CURRENTLY 0.17 MILLION TONNES , GROWTH –

CAGR OF 8.60%
COSTS ESTIMATION -

 MICROBIAL PRODUCTION PLANT – 15 LAKHS

 ETHYLENE PRODUCTION PLANT - 30 LAKHS
 BIODIESEL REFINING PLANT – 50 LAKHS
 MANPOWER – 10 LAKHS
 LAND – 20 LAKHS
 PETROL PUMP – 35 LAKHS
SWOT ANALYSIS -
 STRENGTHS
 1. Quite simple chemistry
 2. Small volume bio-diesel machines are commercially available

 WEAKNESSES
 1. Relatively high labour input
 2. Higher capital investment
 3. Methanol involved in process (toxic & derived from fossil fuel)
 4. Glycerol is a by-product
 5. Relatively high direct energy input/costs
OPPORTUNITIES
 1. Re-use glycerol (e.g. for heat process)
 2. Methanol recovery (e.g. using waste heat)
 3. Potential to develop process using bio-ethanol (rather than methanol)
 4. Funding is currently available for bio-fuel production and research
 5. Strengthening bio-fuel network

THREATS
 1. Potential for increase in cost of methanol
 2. Potential for increase in cost of sodium hydroxide (catalyst)
 3. Large companies introducing 5% blend
PROCESS -

 Transesterification Biodiesel Process

 Raw materials required
 Jatropha oil
 Methanol
 Potassium hydroxide
 Isopropyl alcohol
 Distilled water
 Phenolphthalein solution
 Vinegar
 Water
 Manufacturing Process
 First, Jatropha oil is filtered to remove the solid particles present in it. Then
it is heated to remove the water contents if present in it.Biodiesel is now
used as a diesel engine in the number of agencies. The results are said to
be comparable with petroleum in all areas like power, efficiency, climbing,
hauling, etc.To determine the amount of catalyst that is required. The right
amount of potassium hydroxide is mixed with methanol until the methanol
completely dissolves to get potassium methoxide. In the winter season,
additional Jatropha oil is heated and is mixed with the potassium
methoxide.
 The mixture is allowed to settle. In this process, glycerin settles at the
bottom and the biodiesel at the top. The glycerin is then removed, and the
biodiesel is washed and dried. The biodiesel obtained is then checked for
quality.
 MISSION - WE ARE IN BUSINESS TO SAVE OUR HOME PLANET .
- TO EMPOWER EVERY PERSON AND EVERY
ORGANISATION ON THE PLANET TO ACHIEVE MORE.

 VISION - To use all of its resources to defend life on Earth

 - To be one of the world’s leading producers and providers of
BIODIESEL.
REGULATIONS –

 Government has notified Guidelines for sale of biodiesel for blending

with High Speed Diesel for transportation purposes on 30.4.2019.
Through this Notification Government has granted permission
exclusively for sale of biodiesel (B-100) only and not for any mixture
thereof of whatever percentage.

Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are periodicaly floating Expression of
Interest (EoI) for procurement of Biodiesel produced from UCO.

ROLE OF CHARTERED
ACCOUNTANT -

 A Chartered Accountant can guide you not only to prepare your taxes
and other regulatory standards but at multiple levels of business
formation.
 Their knowledge of key corporate areas such as laws, accounting and
taxation, contracts, and so on can be invaluable when strategizing,
applying for bank loans, maintaining accounts, installing software,
determining subsidies, and so on.
 Role of Chartered Accountant:
 Tax Provision (GST Registration-Rate Applicable for Biodiesel @12%)
 Forecasting of Biodiesel Business (Production-Sale) (Income-Expenses)
 Cost Analysis
 Factory License (Approval from District Factory Inspectorate (DFI)
 Explosive License (For Storage of Methanol
 Pollution Control Board Clearance (Since our Multi-feedstock Biodiesel
Processing Plants are non-polluting, hence the same can be obtained easily.)
 Finance Related Service (Accounting, Financial Reporting, Guidance for
applicable standard, Investment Structure for Company/Firm)
 Managing of Budget
 Risk Analysis
