TRAY/ PLATE COLUMN

Tray or plate has been used extensively in separation units:

1) List 3 types of tray/ plate column commonly used and draw each one of them.
2) List 3 advantages and 3 disadvantages of using tray/ plate column.
3) Show steps of calculating number of theoretical stages of tray / plate column in distillation
column, gas adsorption, liquid-liquid extraction and solid-liquid extraction.

PACKED COLUMN

Packed column is another type of column been used in separation units:

1) List 3 types of packed column commonly used and draw each one of them.
2) List 3 advantages and 3 disadvantages of using packed column.
3) Show steps of calculating packed column height in distillation column, gas adsorption,
liquid-liquid extraction and solid-liquid extraction.
