Introduction:-
The report aims to provide detailed analysis about Software Engineering jobs prospects in
Software house arbisoft in Lahore, Pakistan .The interviewed material is converted into a report
to get better understandings and useful for future Software Engineers.

Software Engineering industry is growing now day by day. In this present world well known
billionaires are Software Engineering including World Richest man Bill Gates, the owner of
Microsoft and also mentioning the multi-billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Facebook
.There are lots of examples Steve Jobbs, SusanWojcicki, Sundar Pichai(etc). All these examples
are known worldwide for their struggle and success. The scope in this field is very high however
strong struggle and dedication is needed and can serve better.

Most students in the developed world have avoided degrees related to software engineering
because of the fear of offshore outsourcing (importing software products or services from other
countries) and of being displaced by foreign visa workers. Although government statistics do not
currently show a threat to software engineering itself; a related career, computer
programming does appear to have been affected. Often one is expected to start out as a computer
programmer before being promoted to software engineer. Thus, the career path to software
engineering may be rough, especially during recessions.

Some career counselors suggest a student also focus on "people skills" and business skills rather
than purely technical skills because such "soft skills" are allegedly more difficult to offshore.
Reasonable command over reading, writing & speaking English is asked by most of employers.
It is the quasi-management aspects of software engineering that appear to be what has kept it
from being impacted by globalization.

Just after completing studies the Software Engineers need to enroll themselves in any company
or a software House to start their practical life work. For better understanding about jobs
prospects this report could accomplish a good initiative.

Purpose of Study:
The purpose of study was to determine the Jobs Prospects of Software Engineering in
Government or Private Organization .

Methods and Procedures used:

Secondary research was used in order to know answers of the above mentioned questions by
means of interview. Interview was asked to a Software Engineer at arbisoft Software House
Lahore, Pakistan. Communication Medium used for the interview includes Mobile Phone calls
and Whatsapp Messenger.

Interviewed Person:
Mr.Nasir Hussain was interviewed who is serving as a Software Engineer at arbisoft Software
House Lahore,Pakistan.Details are mentioned in Appendix.

The Types of Jobs and its works are mentioned below in details which lead to better
understanding.

Software Engineers:
A software engineer is a person who applies the principles of software engineering to the design,
development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make
computers or anything containing software work.

Software Developers:
A software developer is a person concerned with facets of the software development process,
including the research, design, programming, and testing of computer software. Other job titles
which are often used with similar meanings are programmer, software analyst, and
software engineer.

DevOps Network Engineers:

DevOps (development and operations) is an enterprise software development phrase used to
mean a type of agile relationship between Development and IT Operations. The goal
of DevOps is to change and improve the relationship by advocating better communication and
collaboration between the two business units. The person responsible for this duty is referred as
DevOps network Engineer.

SQA Engineers:
The software Quality Assurance Engineer supports an agile team in analyzing, designing,
building and testing high quality Beacon Product Suite that meets and exceeds our customer
expectations.

Software Testing Engineers:

A software testing engineer often works as part of a software company's quality assurance team.
He or she checks software to ensure that the programs or utilities are performing properly.

Software testing engineers check programs for their functionality. A testing engineer's job
includes designing, building and implementing effective testing strategies. Testing engineers
utilize three types of testing strategies which are known as black box, white box and gray box
testing.

UI/UX Engineers:
UI stands for User Interface and UX stands foe User Experience. Both terms are interchangeable.
User interface engineers study how people use products, such as smart phones and tablets, then
design and test the prototypes.

Procedure for Applying for Job Vacancy:-

Arbisoft accepts applications online as well as via internal referral program.

An employee referral program (ERP), whereby employees recommend qualified friends,

relatives or colleagues, can be an excellent source of candidates. For the employee whose
recommendation leads to a hire, there can be various rewards.

After that a short test and interviews are conducted.

Eligibility criteria for applying in the Company:-

A person applying for a job in arbisoft needed to clear Programming Test and further few
interviews to get selected in the company and start working as a Software Engineers.

Seats for Software Engineers in Company:-

There are more 250 different types of Software Engineers including all the types mentioned in

opportunity someone clears tests and interviews fulfilling companys criteria.

Age limit for an Applicant:-

There are no as such restrictions regarding age limit for applying for any of mentioned offering

Internships are provided by arbisoft for fresh Bachelors acquiring experience in their regarding
fields of interest.

Internships Earnings:-

The timings are as same for the other Employees. Flexible timings are 9 hours daily in group.

Salary of the newly appointed employees:-

The Salary for the newly appointed employees varies from 35,000PKR to 50,000PKR depending
on the nature of the job .The skills and the experience the employee having is also a varying
point regards salary.

University Role in Software Engineering Job:-

The University does not matter in acquiring job in the company .The only thing needed is skills
on which emphasized. Although experience is also a point of interest regarding job but skills are
more important than any other thing.

GPA Role in Software Engineering Job:-

The GPA does not matter to get job. The skills are the main thing on which anybody is selected
or rejected for the job.

Timings for a permanent Job:-

Tasks are assigned in the group. The timings are flexible, 9 hours a days when the team want to
works.

Role of Communication Skills in Job:-

Arbisoft have employees from all over the world so Communication Skills are the most
important thing to be considered while interview of the applicant. The employees need to
communicate with clients and co-workers in English language, so Communication Skills play
vital role in getting the job.

Documentations by Employees:-
Weekly progress report is to maintained and submitted to higher authorities. Documentation of
specific software is also written by the employees, which may in a book led or a manual form.

Writing skills required for an applicant:-

No special writing skills or courses are compulsory for applicants acquiring job but Applicant
should have fluency in English Language.

Medium of Communication:-
Arbisoft workers are from all over the world so the medium of communication used is English.

Summary:-
Jobs offered to Software Engineers are Software Engineers, Software Developers, DevOps
Network Engineers, SQA Engineers, Software, Testing Engineers, UI/UX Engineers. Arbisoft

The Scope of Software Engineering is not confined. Skills are needed to get Software
Engineering Jobs, University and GPA does not matter.

The Salary Package varies from 30,000PKR to 50,000 for newly appointed employees.

Communications Skills also plays important role in seeking job.

Paid Internships are also available with flexible timings.

Recommendation:-
The Software Engineering Students should focus on their skills because the university
and GPA do not matter for the job.
The Students should also be focused on Communication Skills and English fluency that it
could be a plus point while seeking job.
