Aim: Begin work on digital graphics on Photoshop.

Evidence:

I have started my A3 poster by making the background orange. I think my background for my CD will
be a similar colour, as I want to make everything look similar so it could be seen as all part of The
Pixels product. I have set the canvas size to 29.7 x 42.0cm. I also changed the name of the first layer
to Background.

I have added the start of the text to the poster, which is the name of the band. I have used the 3D
tool on Photoshop to make the title stand out more because I want this to stand out more than
anything else on the poster. I have used the stroke tool to give it a green outline. I didnt like how it
Robert Eastwood

looked so I had to edit it slightly before moving on to the next part of the poster, this included
moving the 3D title around until it looked the best it could which took around 15 minutes.

I have also added the rest of the title and added live tour at the top to show the poster is for a
concert. I have used the stroke tool to give all the text an outside line to everything for the Pixels
one I used green to make it stand out more to the rest of the words. The live tour and The
Rockin are in grey and then have a black outline so they are easy to read and I think it looks good on
the orange background. For this I have used the font Gill Sans Ultra Bold Regular as it is easy to read
and the size of The Rockin font is 108.46 pt and the Live Tour font is 74.18 pt. I have used a
similar colour grey to what is used in the title. I made sure my logo was on its own layer and
positioned it into place using my storyboards.

I have made all my pixels on the screen using the rectangle tool. I have used loads of different
colours and I have tried to not have the same colour next to each other. I have also put the names of
The Pixels social media accounts. I have not given these pixels outline like the ones I will do later on
Robert Eastwood

because there are too many one on this for the outline to help. This bottom bit of information is
needed as it is the contact information and the social media font is 42.91 pt size and the font is
Agency FB Bold. The website address is also Agency FB Bold but it is a bigger font size of 49.57 pt.

I have now added all the dates and locations for the tour that The Pixels are going to have. I have
also added borders around the social media accounts and the dates and locations so it looks a bit
more organised. I have used the font for the text because it is easy to read and easy to read from a
distance. All the font size for the tour dates is 25.75 pt and the font is called Gadugi Bold. I did all this
using the text tool I made sure the text has a lot of spacing and all close together and looks rushed.

Aim: Continue making the graphics.

Evidence: I have decided to change my background so it is a night sky inside of a boring orange
background and so it looks less cramped I have removed some of the pixels or made them smaller
and made the logo at the bottom of the poster smaller. I wanted to make sure everything was
similar that is why I used the orange background but a background like this looks a lot better with
the font and the font I had to change to white but I think that looks better as well; with the black and
blue background behind it. I have started making my logo but I have decided to add it on this first.

I have finished my Poster and I can now save it in different ways I will save one as a PSD and one as a
PNG.

I will show how I made my Logo. There are some settings I am using when creating my logo. The
resolution is 1200x500.

I have started by making the colour pattern which I will continue making the same pattern. I have
decided to use a pattern and I think it will just give it some more detail then it just being a boring P.
This is how may logo looks on the storyboard as well just with different and better colours.

I have made my P shaped logo. I have made a pattern and I have made it link correctly with the blue
ending on the green in the middle of the P. Which I was not expecting but it makes it look a lot
better so I am glad it worked out like that. I think I could have made this logo 3D but I wasnt sure if
it would improve it that much so I decided to leave it for time reasons as I needed to make sure I
Robert Eastwood

could finish my CD cover graphic. Plus if it was 3D there could have been gaps between each of the
squares which would have made the P look weird with parts of it missing.

I have finished my logo by putting a picture of the band The Pixel in the middle of the P. I made sure
to find a band with four members as I send in my previous work that they are a four member band. I
had to find a stylistic picture as well as this is The Pixels logo so it will be used all the time and be
associated with them for ever probably so they will not want an embarrassing picture there.

My front cover for the CD is 12 by 12 and then the back and spine is 14 by 13. I got the size of the
spine by using a ruler to making the normal size of the square a bit bigger in width.

I have started my front cd cover and I have used the same font for the word The Pixels as I did for my
poster and I have put my logo at the bottom left just as I did for my poster. I have done a colourful
line under the word Pixels so it stands out even more. I have put the name of the CD on as well
which is called Absolution and I have put the first and last letter which is A and N in green because
Robert Eastwood

it makes it stand out and look interesting and less simple. I did this instead of using the glow effect
because I have used the glow tool a lot so I thought I would change it up so it doesnt get so similar.
I have changed the positon of the logo on this CD cover as on my storyboard the logo was on the
back of the CD cover but I think this gives the logo a more important place on the CD and also make
the front cover look more full as on the storyboard it was quite bland.

I have started adding pixels onto my front cover now to make it look fuller. Im making the cover
look like the poster in different ways.

I have finished my front cover for my cd cover by adding a good amount of the pixels around the
screen to make it look full.

Learnt:

I have completed another graphic and have done half of my last graphic.

Evidence:

I will now start the back and spine of the CD cover.

I have started by making sure the back and spine backgrounds are the same yellow as the front
cover.

I have used the Gill Sans Ultra Bold for my text for the list of songs because it is bold and easy to read
and I think you could read it from a distance. I have changed the placement of the songs from what I
did on the storyboards. On the storyboards they would be on the sides and not central. I have
decided to change because I think it looks better like this, I will be adding the different coloured
pixels afterwards, and I think it would look better surrounding the writing then in between it. The
font size of the songs on the back of the CD cover is 14.39 pt. The font size for the tracklist name is
21.55 pt. All the tracks are combined together in layers, I have done this so it is easier to edit them
as a group.

I have added the orange part where all the information will be on including a barcode, social Medias
and website. I have made it orange because it stands out and doesnt contrast with the background.

I have added the two things on the spin of the cover. It shows the Pixels name in the font I have used
on the front cover and poster. Then I have added the name of the album Absolution; Which is in
the same font as the pixels name but I have made the first letter and last letter A and N green again
as that is what people will notice because that is how it will always look so it will be easy to
recognize and also standout because of the bright green colour and the cool font.
Robert Eastwood

I have added the pixels that I wrote about before. I have tried to even out the different colours so
there is not too much of one colour. I do prefer this to how I had it on my storyboard with the pixels
just being place wherever they could fit; I think this look much netter.

I have added a barcode and a copyright sign to show people cannot copy the music as it is illegal and
all CDs have barcode on so they can be sold. I have also added the website at the bottom of it so
people can go to the Pixels website if they need to.
Robert Eastwood

I have made a darker orange to put the social media names in just to give it more to look at and to
make it not look all the same.

I have now finished the back of the CD by putting The Pixels names in the dark orange box; I have
made little circles with a letter in which tell you which social media it is. I have used the colours that
are used by that social media as well, so the blues that Twitter and Facebook use I have used in
there circle and Instagram has a purple.

I have decided to change the size of the writing on the spine. It will be smaller and will not have the
name of the band on it and just the title of the album.
Robert Eastwood

I have added asset evidence, which shows where I have saved all my graphics and my word
documents.

I have added a file conversion word document, which shows the appropriate file format for my logo,
CD cover and Poster. It shows you a lot of information about the file option TIFF.
Robert Eastwood

I have also finished my ILP with a review on each day. Including the deadline day which I finished my
graphics and all my word documents.

I have now finished my work for the deadline today as I have completed all my word documents and
all my graphics that are shown on the checklist, which shows everything you need in this
assignment.
