Lord Capulets Daughter Refuses Arranged Marriage to Paris!

The city of Verona was shocked this
week to hear that Lord Capulets
daughter Juliet has refused to be
married to Paris. The marriage was
arranged by her father after the
murder of her cousin. It is unknown
why Juliet refused her fathers order,
but he is understandably furious with
her.
Lord Capulet arranged the marriage
between his daughter and Paris in an
effort to raise her spirits. After her
refusal, Lord Capulet was heard to say,
I tell thee what: get thee to church
oThursday, or never after look me in
the face. It is unknown whether Lord
Capulet followed through with his
threat to banish Juliet from the family.
The family is recovering from the
untimely death of Juliets cousin,
Tybalt. However, it appears that Juliet
refused the marriage for some other
reason. There is some speculation that
she has been romantically involved
with Tybalts murderer, Romeo
Montague. She even stated to her
mother, I will not marry yet; and
when I do, I swear it shall be Romeo,
whom you know I hate, rather than
Paris. This statement seems to hint
that she is actually in love with Romeo.
It is obvious that there have been a lot
of rumours and tragedy surrounding
the Capulet family recently. In the end,
the family has been broken apart by
these events and it remains to be seen
how the situation will be resolved.
