RECOMMENDATION FORM- ADMISSION FALL 2012

Describe the applicant's strengths. How does this applicant's professional performance compare with his/her peers?

When compared to his peers, I find him a cut above the rest.. He has strong analytical and quantitative
skills. He has worked on various consultancy projects & immensely contributed in delivering them.
Recently ,he has developed and presented a novel method for detecting failures in rod pumped wells in
IORS 2015 conference , a method that took 9 months of rigorous simulations and analysis . The project has
received appreciation from various sections of the industry. He is one of the youngest artificial lift trainer at
ONGC & has successfully delivered over 15 schedules of artificial lift trainings .He was awarded ONGC
merit award for excellent contribution and initiatives in imparting artificial lift training to field personnel in
2014.

Describe the applicants main areas in need of development. Provide specific examples.
Prashant has learnt the meticulous procedure of making contracts and tendering apart from the ERP
system at ONGC.As on date he is also dealing with commercial procurement matters involving financial
knowledge . However courses in corporate finance would help him further understand the economics of the
industry.
He did not have much experience of ISO standard auditing when he joined ONGC. Later he became a
certified internal auditor for ISO 9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001. Over the past few years, I have seen him
grow as a management consultant ,deliberating on improvement of various work practices during the
audits. However he can surely add to his management consulting skills though relevant courses in MBA or
otherwise

Describe the applicants interpersonal skills. Is the applicant effective when working on a team?
Prashant has consistently proved himself to be an excellent team player and has contributed at every step
to help the team achieve its best. He has wonderfully adapted himself to a very experienced team of Artificial
lift team and immensely contributed in delivering various consultancy projects and training programs across
ONGC. He is presently the core member of the organizing committee for annual TAC meeting and worked
with various multifunctional teams comprising of more than 40 members , managing the entire
arrangements from logistics to corporate communications for the last 3 years . His enthusiasm rubs on to
his colleagues and I have seen some tremendous results from every team that Prashant has been a part of.

Describe the applicant's professional poise, his/her ability to handle himself/herself in a business setting.

At ONGC Prashant has constantly displayed signs of leadership. Because of his dependable and result
oriented nature, he has become an indispensable member of an Artificial Lift team at IOGPT. Prashant acts as
an in-house consultant to ONGC for several high stakes projects - ranging from enhancement of the Oil and
Gas production to development of new fields too. His performance in successfully delivering challenging
projects along with excellent management of various audits and training has earned him A+ grading at ONGC
for the past 2 years consecutively. Moreover he is a professional trainer for artificial lift technologies and
knowledge up-gradation at ONGC. He has conducted more than 15 sessions and trained over 400
professionals .

How does the applicant typically handle him/herself under pressure? Provide a specific example.

Prashant handles pressure situations with a great composure .In one of the top priority projects , analysis
and subsequent presentation were to be done on a short notice at one of the onshore assets of ONGC. The
project had over 300 wells and needed elaborate compilation of facts & figures and simulations within a span
short span of time . He managed to infer the key issues and the relevant recommendation after doing a quick
macro study and simulations and recently presented it to the management in one of the assets .The project
came up to the expectation of the asset and he was appreciated for successfully dealing with this complex
project in such relatively short period of time by both the asset and IOGPT management .

Please read the four descriptions for each category and select the definition that best describes this applicant.
