Ivanna- Hey grandma I have to talk to you about something

G-ma- Whats up? Ivanna, Im here for you if you need anything

Ivanna- Well I don't necessarily have the same views about you in some things and I feel

that I shouldnt be scared to share my beliefs with you

G-ma- ndale just tell me

Ivanna- I don't believe in God

G-ma- Ivanna how dare you shut up we're not talking about this

Narrator- Grandma leaves and Ivanna tells her dad about the conversation

Father- Ivanna dont ever tell your grandmother that she would never understand, I get it but

in front of her just follow me lead and respond back nicely. Lets try to avoid conflict

tomorrow.

Ivanna- Got it! Tomorrow is gonna be a blasts

Day 1 Sunday Morning Church

Narrator- Present day Sunday Morning

G-ma- Time to get ready!

Narrator- Ivanna walks down

G-ma- Are you really wearing that Ivanna? Its not formal enough for the lord.

Ivanna- Are you serious grandma? Im tired of dressing like this every weekend.

G-ma- We owe our lives to Jesus, the least you could do is dress nice.

Ivanna- Come on, I dont even want to go!

G-ma- I dont care, go change NOW!

Ivanna- okay (ivanna rolls eyes)

Narrator- Ivanna changes into nicer clothing

G-ma- Was that so hard?

Father- Ivanna listen to your gramma. Now come on guys its time to go were gonna be

late!

Narrator- Arrives at church

Ivanna- Ohhh my goddd dad I don't want to be here

G-ma- Don't say the lord's name in vain

Father- Ivanna don't you ever disrespect jesus like that again!

Narrator- They sit down inside church

G-ma- Sit up straight Ivana and cross your legs

Ivanna- Stop controlling me

Father- Ivanna just sit still we are halfway through

Ivanna- half way through barely!

Father- Yes now stop complaining and listen!

G-m - okay it's over ivanna

Ivanna- YES finally that was the longest hour of my life

Father- ivanna now that's enough already!

Ivanna - i'm just hungry can we go home and eat now..

Dinner Time

G-Ma- Lets pray, everyone hold hands

Father- Give me your hand Ivanna

Ivanna- ugh okay

Father- Ill do the prayer today

G-ma- No! son I always do them!

Ivanna- Why do we have to do this every time?

Father- Shut up Ivanna were praying. Now close your eyes

G-Ma- God of all gifts, we thank you for the many ways you have blessed us this day. We

are grateful each of those who are gathered around this table. We ask you to bless us and

our food and to bless those we love who are not with us today. In our gratitude and love, we

remember your humble birth into our lives and pray for those who are are without enough to

eat. We remember the stable in which you were born and pray for those who have no place

to live. We remember your challenging message of caring and giving and we pray for peace

in families and nations throughout the world. We bless you and give you thanks in your Spirit

who brings our hearts to life the everyday and forever. Amen.

Ivanna- Can we eat now?

G-Ma- Is there something wrong Ivanna? (look at Ivanna like she did something wrong)

Ivanna- Yeah, actually

G-Ma- Wow Ivanna, Im surprised you will actually be contributing to a conversation!

Ivanna- Ive tried telling you but you don't listen to me. I really dont understand religion or

why you try to force it upon our whole family. I dont believe in God and I feel should be able

to tell you that. The world is changing and not only when it comes to religion. There is so

many issues where your views are dated. You never let me speak my mind and im tired of it

G-Ma- (hits Ivanna in the head) CALLATE! How dare you disrespect me, your father, or

God!

Father- Mom! Jesus is always watching!

G-Ma- Ive had it with you!

Father- Dont listen to her shes PMSing

G-Ma- Rolando! How dare you?!

Father- Sorry mom.

Ivanna- What is wrong with you! I understand that religion is a large part of your life but its

not for me and I just thought you should know.

G-Ma- Why dont you get it? He gave you life he is everything!
Ivanna- Why don't you understand? why do you refuse to listen to anyone else?! I don't not

believe i just don't understand the traditions behind it.

G-Ma- Get out I dont want this energy in my house.

Ivanna- Why do I even waste my breath with this, you're so ridiculous

Narrator- Ivanna leaves in an angry rush and her father follows her

Father- Hey ivanna, dont pay attention to my mom shes crazy, you can always talk to me

about these things
