Scene 1: Crybaby

Cry baby music starts to play.

Scene opens with Feriyal on the table giving birth whilst also drinking alcohol with one
hand and smoking a cigarette with the other, with the nurses (Nela&Anita) facing the
patient (Feriyal) on either side of her and the doctors (Bart&Ali) standing further forward at
an angle facing the patient (Feriyal).
Doctors: Push They use their hands to gesture a pushing motion, and the urgent tone and
volume increases as the line gets repeated.
Nurses: Youre doing well. Mop, mop, mop On the first line, they use their right hand to
stroke Feriyals shoulder, and on the second line, they use their left hand to gesture dabbing
a wet cloth on Feriyals forehead 3 times. The urgent tone and volume of the line also
increases as the line gets repeated. Volume of music gets lower as the volume of speaking
gets higher.
Doctors: PUSH
Nurses: YOURE DOING WELL. MOP, MOP, MOP
Doctors: PUSH

At the final line, Ellie comes out from under the table and sits down on the floor with her legs
crossed. During this, crying noises are made through sound effects/use of voice. Everyone
else changes position at an angle, facing the back.
Everyone: Whats her name? X4 This line is said at different times, with us turning our
bodies/heads slightly each time towards Feriyal when saying the line. Nela has the last line
which cues feriyals next line. During this, Feriyal is getting increasingly agitated at the
repeated question and the crying.
Chaime reads poem, meanwhile everyone else is whispering Whats her name
Feriyal: Ugh, shes such a Crybaby. Everyone stops
Everyone: Cry baby Everyone turns around fully, says the line in a robotic tone, smiles
fakely and mimics writing the name onto a birth certificate.
Crying from Ellie/sound effects begin again loudly. Feriyal approaches Ellie, struggling to
walk because she is so drunk.
Feriyal: Just shut up She shoves a dummy in her mouth, and the crying noises stop.
Feriyal grabs the milk bottle from her hand and replaces it with her bottle of alcohol.

Feriyal: Trust me, this will make you feel much better. All your troubles will disappear. But
what would you know about troubles, your just another stupid mistake I made. Youre never
going to be anyone. Youll always be a stupid, unlovable, worthless Crybaby. Throughout
this Feriyal will be changing her tone of voice, from nice and comforting (in her own way) to
angry and annoyed, and she will be stumbling and acting drunk.
During this, the set up for DOLLHOUSE will begin. For example, Nela and Anita will replace
the blue cloth over the table with a white cloth and Bart and Ali will carry 2 chairs each to set
up a dining table.
Scene 2: Dollhouse
This scene opens with a music box open on the floor, with the music box sounds playing. Ellie
enters the scene with dolls in her hand, and goes towards the music box and shuts the box
abruptly and angrily to signal the harsh reality of her life. She is sitting near the audience on
the left side of the stage, starting to play with her family of dolls.
Throughout this, the table in the background is getting set up.
Chaime reads poem
Picks up the doll representing the mum and herself, and makes the doll do actions based on
the words.
Ellie: Im Crybabys mum and youre so worthless, go get me a drink
Ellie: But mum, why?
Ellie: Because I want to drink so much so I forget you exist throws the mum on the floor.
Picks up the doll representing the dad, and makes the doll do actions based on the words.
Ellie: Hi dad
Ellie: Why you up so late? Get out of my face. I dont love you, Im too busy cheating on your
mum throws the dad on the floor.
Picks up the doll representing the brother, and makes the doll do actions based on the
words.
Ellie: Brother, can we play a game?
Ellie: Get lost, youre such a burden, no one even loves you. throws the brother on the
floor.
Feriyal: CRYBABY! DINNER IS READY! GET DOWN HERE NOW!
Bart, Ali and Feriyal begin to take their places at the dinner table

Ellie stands up but realises she is still holding her own doll which represents herself. She looks
at it reflectively.
Ellie: What am I still doing holding you? You couldnt protect me. And there all right,
everythings always my fault. throws her doll on the floor.
Ellie takes her place at the dinner table and the dollhouse music begins to play. Everyone
begins to do set movements involving head nodding, cutting food, eating and drinking.
Everyone gets into freeze and the lights turn off, and everyone is in another freeze, with
feriyal being passed out drunk on the table.
Ellie: Mum, wake up!
Feriyal: Just go be useful and me a beer she goes to get her a beer and comes back, and
Feriyal grabs it out of her hand and starts drinking.
Feriyal: Stop staring at me, get out of my face!
Everyone freezes and lights go off and on again. Ali is at the side with Chaime and Anita.
Ellie: But mum, dads with a slut
Ali: Ok girls, you got to go now, my wife is coming soon.
Anita and Chaime are giggling and acting flirtatious.
Anita: No, just one more drink.
Chaime: We can have so much more fun.
Ali: I know, I know, I want you to stay as well, but Ill see you soon.
Together: Noooo, cmon just a few more minutes.
Ali: Quickly, someones coming. You really must go now. He pushes them away and they
start to giggle and stumble away slowly.
Ali: What are you looking at? Go to your room, NOW.
Lights turn off and on again, and Bart is in a freeze smoking cannabis.
Ellie: Mum? Dad? Cant you see your sons smoking cannabis? Ellie goes to knock at the
imaginary door.
Bart: What do you want?
Ellie: Can you play dolls with me please?
Bart: Eww, no way (laughs) Cant you see Im busy?
Ellie: What are you doing?
Bart: Its none of your business, get out he blows the smoke in Ellies face and she starts
coughing and he starts laughing.
Lights go off and on again, and everyone is in their original positions. The music begins again
and the set movements begin again.
Ellie: NO ONE EVER LISTENS Ellie flips the table. Then everyone goes into position ready to
do the recurring transition Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, four years later and Chaime
reads poem. Ellie swaps bib with Anita.
Anita and Bart sit down on chairs facing each over.
Scene 3: Soap
Music for Soap starts.
Ellie and feriyal get into position behind Anita and Nela and Ali get into position behind Bart,
mirroring our position facing each other. The music for soap then begins to play.
Anita: Hi Anita, Ellie and Feriyal all lean forward whilst waving and Bart, Nela and Ali all
lean back.
Anita: Ive got something for you Anita, Ellie and Feriyal all reach from their hearts and
take a paper heart and stare at it.
Anita: Here you go Anita, Ellie and Feriyal start to lean forward, handing the heart over to
Bart, Nela and Ali who lean in to receive it.
Anita: I hope you like it Anita, Ellie and Feriyal start to go back to normal positions, smiling.
Anita: Its because I lov-
Anita is stopped mid sentence, as Bart, Nela and and Ali all reach up and rip the heart into
two, dropping it to the ground. During this Anita, Ellie and Feriyal all take a breath in as they
reach up, and then drop down to the floor as the heart is broken and stamped on. Bart, Nela
and Ali walk away happily.
Feriyal and Ellie go over to comfort Anita as she collapses on the floor.
Feriyal&Ellie: You should of never said the word love, why do you always spill? Wash your
mouth out with soap, because you wish you never spoke - they hand Anita bars of soap
and walk away, as Anita starts to wash her mouth of with soap, going crazy and choking. At
this point, bubbles is being blown from the back/or side of the audience by Chaime.
Scene 4: Pity Party
This scene opens continuing with the last scene, Anita is collapsed on the floor upset and
crying after the events of the previous scene. Meanwhile, everyone is setting up the scene.
Anita suddenly gets an idea to throw a party for her 16th birthday. Everyone is behind in a
line, facing away from the audience.
Anita: I have an idea!
Chaime reads the poem
Anita: I cant believe I forgot, its my BIRTHDAY!
Everyone: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! they turn around and throw balloons in the air and then they
freeze in that throwing position.
Anita begins to write invitations and hand them out to the audience, along with goody bags.
Anita: Il even invite Johnny! Maybe hell like me if I throw the best party ever, and all my
friends will come and I will be the MOST popular girl ever! She begins to write an invitation
to Johnny.
Anita: Dear Johnny, your invited to my 16th Birthday party. I cant wait to see you! Love,
Crybaby xx She begins to hand out invitations to the audience.
Anita: Here you go! Cant wait to see you! Dont forget your present! And dont be late!
Sounds of a clock in the background or everyone doing an action that symbolising the
passing of time. Anita sits down bored looking at her watch. She blows out a balloon and lets
it deflate and fly away.
Doorbell rings. She gets excited and runs to it, opens the door and its just Ali acting as a
delivery man, delivering the personalised cake she ordered. She slams the door shut at which
point she stamps her foot and everyone pops a balloon. She goes back into the room.
Anita: Did my invitations disappear? Why did I put my heart on every cursive letter? she
begins to get angry and starts going crazy, ripping her decorations etc.
She places her imaginary friends into the centre and puts them all into positions. She takes
Feriyal and puts her into a cheering position. She puts Nela into a laughing position. She puts
Ellie and Ali into a drinking/talking position facing each over.
Anita: I almost forgot! We need to cut the cake! SING. SING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME NOW!
Everyone: Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to Crybaby. Happy
birthday to you! Everyone sings in a creepy way and she starts cutting at the cake with a
knife and stabbing it. She grabs pieces with her hand.
Anita: DO YOU WANT SOME CAKE? THERES PLENTLY LEFT. NO DONT GO. EAT THE CAKE!
EAT THE CAKE NOW!!! She stuffs the cake in peoples faces. She then begins to go around
and tries to get people to stay, occasionally offering cake to the audience, and shouting in
their faces.
Anita: Tell me why the hell no one is here? Tell me what to do to make it all feel better?
The Piata gets released and Anita starts smashing it causing sweets coming out above the
audience.
She changes mood from angry to really upset. Bart enters the room.
Bart: What the hell is going on? Why are you making so much noise?
Anita: (sobbing) Its, its, my birthday party. But no..no one showed up.
Bart: Oh, what a surprise. Its cause no one likes you. Loner. He turns around but begins to
stop.
Bart: I did get you a present though
Anita: (gasp) Really?
Bart puts his hand in his pocket and takes it out. He opens it to reveal nothing, and starts
laughing.
Bart: Yeah right (Hysterically laughing as leaving the room) Like someone would actually get
YOU a present.
Feriyal: Crybaby! What is this mess? Clean it up NOW. And go outside to the shops to get me
some bread when youre done.
Everyone is cleaning up the set at this point.
Scene 5: Tag, youre it
This scene opens with ice cream van music playing for a while, and everyone is hidden but
you can only hear a few lines of children speaking happily, Mum, Im going to get ice
cream! and Yayy, the ice cream van is here. The tag youre it music is playing after this.
Chaime reads the poem.
Everyone springs out of nowhere into a line, in order of Nela, Ellie, Feriyal, Bart, Chaime and
Anita, they are all eager to get ice cream.
Ali: Eanie, meanie, miny, mo, catch your lady, by the toe each of them move forward and
get an ice cream on the different words. They begin to line up, facing the audience. They
take 5 licks of the ice cream. When Anita gets to Ali, she points at an ice cream she wants,
but he nods his head to gesture a no and takes an ice cream, turns to the side, allowing the
audience to see his dropping poison into her ice cream. Anita joins the line last which cues
everyone speaking.
Everyone: If she screams, dont let her go everyone begins to laugh and act childish playing
the game tag, Anita is acting dizzy, walking in circles then gets bumped into a chair.
They sit down in front of the chair in a line, facing the audience and begin to do clapping
movements while singing.
Everyone: Tag, youre it, Tag, tag, youre it X4
On the sound of footsteps, they begin to panic and lose formation.
Everyone: Shhh. Hes coming. Hes coming.
Ali: Let me take you for a joy ride.
Everyone: Joyride (whispers)
Ali: Ive got some candy for you inside.
Everyone: Inside (whispers)
Ali: I love it when I hear you breathing.
Everyone: Breathing (whispers)
Ali: I hope to god your never leaving.
Everyone: Leaving (whispers)
As Ali is speaking he is getting closer and closer to Anita, and everyone gets up and follows.
On Alis last line, he comes up behind Anita and grabs my neck, and everyone screams and
drops to the floor. As this happens the lights dim out. Silence. Everyone on the floor begins
to sob and cry.
Anita: Leave me alone. Get off.
Ali: Dont fight me, I know you want it.
Anita: Please, dont touch me.
Ali: No one will ever love you like I LOVE YOU.
Anita: No, no, please, stop it, please.
As this is happening, 2 people on the floor grabs the extra layers of clothes of me and
throws it in the audience and the other people go to the audience creepily on the floor and
touch their legs, invading their personal space. Anita is still protesting and crying.
The lights dim up abit and the audience can see Anita lying on the floor, shaking and a mess.
Nela comes and we swap bibs.

Scene 6: Milk and cookies

Everyone gets into position for the recurring transition, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, four
years later. Ali drops to his knees to mimic a wolf.
Everyone: HELP everyone turns to face Ali.
Ali: SHUTUP
Ali picks Nela up and brings her to the table, and goes to get rope to tie her legs up.
Ali: I TOLD YOU TO TAKE THE TRASH OUT he grabs her by the neck up and lets her fall to
the ground roughly.
Ali: GET UP. I SAID GET UP.
Nela scrambles, trying to get up and sit on the chair as quick as possible.
Ali: For the past four years, you have been very obedient. Now we dont want to misbehave
now, do we? You would hate for me to destroy that pretty face of yours Ali carves a smile
into nelas face.
Ali takes a post stick note that says Make me Milk&Cookies, licks it and sticks it on her
forehead. He then kisses his fingers and touches her forehead roughly.
Anita: She got locked up and made a plan.
Ellie: To kill the bad wolf ice cream man.
Feriyal: He ordered her to make him snacks.
Bart: Her cookies and milk made him collapse.
Music begins to play.
Nela gets up and begins to get ingredients to make the cookies. Everyone begins to go
closer to Nela.
Everyone: Dont forget the poison. Dont forget the poison. Dont forget poison. (Saying it at
different times)
Nela begins to go crazy, pouring eggs, flour, sugar etc into the bowl and making a mess. She
mixes it, adds in the poison and spits in it several times.
Ali begins to come back into the room.
Everyone: Hes back. Hurry. everyone scatters away.
Ali: Ooo whats that smell
Nela: Its the Cookies and Milk you asked for. Nela offers Ali the cookie and he takes a bite
out of it. He starts to cough and choke, while Nela laughs creepily. He finally falls to the
ground.
Nela: I did it. Im free. I did it.
Nela sticks a post stick note onto him, and goes all hysterical, throwing ingredients onto
him.
Nela: I did it. I really did it. I killed him - She starts to realise fully what she has done and
how it will negatively affect her as well as positively.
Police siren music plays and Nela begins to panic, trying to find places to hide.
Scene 7: Mad Hatter
Mad hatter music starts, and Ellie and Feriyal use a jacket to put on Nela and walk around
her to opposite ways, and as the beat drops they pull her backwards onto the table.
Everyone gets into positions and do four individual freeze frames each and then go into a
space and become our own mental and crazy patient.
Bart: Patient 366
Everyone: Patient 366 (whispering repeatedly until Barts next line)
Bart: Name is Cry baby
Everyone: Cry baby (whispering repeatedly until Barts next line)
Bart: Diagnosed with severe Depression, Anxiety, schizophrenia and PTSD. Please report to
your first treatment session immediately - Nela and Bart face the audience on chairs and Ali
lingers behind, taunting Nela.
Bart: Hello, Crybaby (Bart is looking down at his files throughout for reference)
Bart: How have you been feeling lately?
Nela: Fine.
Chorus: Liar, liar, pants on fire.
Ali: You feel guilty. Well you should, because everythings your fault.
Bart: So, from what I understand, you were held captive for. four years? Is that correct?
Nela: Yes.
Chorus: Liar, liar, pants on fire.
Ali: Held captive? You wanted to be there. You loved it there.
Bart: Can you tell me what happened during those four years?
Nela: N-n-nothing.
Chorus: Liar, liar, pants on fire.
Ali: Whats wrong? Are you embarrassed because you asked for it, begged it for it, or
because you enjoyed it?
Nela: I didnt ask for it. You made me. Just stop it. Stop speaking. Just stop it.
Bart: Asked for what?...Are you okay?
Nela: Nothing. I already said IM FINE. (Nela is getting angrier now)
Bart: Okayyy. Did any of your family come to visit you?
Nela: No, they were busy.
Chorus: Liar, liar, pants on fire.
Ali: They didnt come because no one loves you. No one will ever love you like I loved you.
Nela: They do love me. Stop it. Just stop it. Let me go. Im not crazy. Im not crazy. I need to
get out of here.. (Nela is going hysterical and trying to escape)
Bart: Nurse, I need you now! (Bart is holding Nela back which is giving her a panic attack as
she doesnt like to me touched)
Chaime enters with a sedative and injects Nela who then instantly falls asleep and the lights
begin to dim. Bart places her on the table. Everyone begins whispering various lines at
different times, coming from similar lines within the play. For example:
Chaime: Your daddy loves me more than you. Youre so worthless.
Feriyal: Its your fault that I drink so much, youre such a stupid mistake.
Ali: You know you want it. Stop resisting. You enjoy it. No one will ever love you like I love
you.
Bart: I dont to play with you. Get out of my room!
Nela begins to wake up and get up from the bed at the sound of whispers. Anita and Ellie
walk in towards Nela and all 3 stand in a line.
Nela, Anita&Ellie: Its all my fault. (On this line, everyone stops whispering but begins doing
planned movements)
Nela, Anita&Ellie: Whats your name?
Nela, Anita&Ellie: .Cry Baby.
Nela, Anita&Ellie: What?
Anita: Thats my name.
Ellie: No, thats my name.
Nela: No, thats MY name.
Ellie: Thats mine (Reaches out to grab the Cry Baby bib)
Anita: No thats mine! (Reaches out to grab the Cry Baby bib)
Nela: No its mine!! (Nela grabs our arms/hands and spins us round, then she attempts to hit
me but I dodge and push her back and ellie grabs her. Nela ends up on the floor and Anita
and Ellie walk out smiling and happy) The lights begin to dim and Nela goes back to bed.
Scene 8: Sippy cup
Everyone: Cry baby, wake up, its time Everyone begins to repeatedly whisper this in
creepy voice while Nela goes back to sleeping on the table and the lights are coming back on
to reality.
Chaime: Cry baby, wake up, its time - Chaime is shaking Nela to wake her up. Nela wakes up
a mess, super scared and shaking from her nightmare and begins to go hysterical again.
Nela: Dont touch me, let me go.
Chaime attempts to inject her with a sedative but instead, Nela grabs the injection and
injects Chaime who collapses to the floor, and runs away.
Sirens go off as Nela runs down the middle of the stage where the audience would be.

Everyone: Emergency code red. A patient has escaped. A patient has escaped.

Lights go red and blue then blackout. Lights fade back up and Nela walks back through the
middle of the stage where the audience would be. The dinner table is set up and the family
are sitting down.

Nela: Hello. Mum? Dad? Im back. Nela then sits down in the chair and Dollhouse music
begins to play.

Blackout. When the lights come back up Ellie sitting at the table with the family and the
mum is dead

Blackout. When the lights come back up Anita sitting at the table with family and the
brother is dead.

Blackout. When the lights come back up Nela sitting at the table with family and the dad is
dead.

Nela carries on eating her food while the music fades out and the lights fade into blackout.
