Sub: Requirement of outage on 400kV Vapi Boisar line for insulator replacement work.

Dear Sir,

400kV Vapi Boisar line was auto reclosed successfully on 12.06.16 and 18.06.16. During patrolling it is
was observed that failure of porcelain disc insulator strings at various locations. Subsequently, PID testing
of insulators carried on sampling basis and it was found that insulators were defective.

Considering the 400kV Vapi-Boisar is inter-state line, it has been decided to replace all the porcelain disc
insulator strings with composite polymer insulators in complete line to avoid undesirable tripping of line
during monsoon. It is requested to kindly permit to avail outage on 400kV Vapi-Boisar line on the dates
given below :
