The Alitheian Circle

The Alitheian Circle is a society and webzine founded with the

idea of spreading knowledge and increasing awareness of the
various issues that surrounds the present day society.
The basic aim of the society is to discuss various ideologies-
social, political or literary, pieces of art and literature, social and
political problems and issues pertaining to environment in order to
achieve a higher standard of understanding and to find solutions
wherever and whenever required.
In order to do so-
1. Informal group discussions will be held frequently amongst
the members as well as formal discussions involving
professors, knowledgeable personas and other students on
various topics including art and literature, sociology, history,
politics, economics etc.
2. Major meetings inviting resource persons, professors and
eminent members of the society while hosting a large
number of students will be organized to promote the
dispersion of knowledge and awareness of various issues
and their probable solutions.
3. Critically acclaimed movies, documentaries and various
pieces of music will be screened and played followed by
discussions on their history, plot and making.
4. A Model United Nations (MUN) will be formed.
The Alitheian Circle is a society of free thinkers striving to attain
knowledge, skill and a higher standard of understanding and is
strictly non-political, unaffiliated to any political organization. It
doesnt conform to any single ideology, nor does it force its
members to do so. The members are free to develop their own
set of ideologies and expand their understanding. Members trying
to promote their own political or social agendas or acting on
behalf of any such organization will be expelled from the Circle
immediately.

The webzine is much more than a simple reflection of the Circle.
For convenience it is divided into two segments.
The first segment includes-
1. The coverage of various Circle meets and events.
2. The coverage of cultural, literary, social, political and musical
events in and around Guwahati.
3. Articles on arts, literature, history, ideas and ideologies,
social and environmental issues, ethics, music, culture,
travels etc.
The second segment is totally academic in design and will
include-
1. Question papers of previous years of the core subjects of all
semesters, primarily of Cotton University.
2. Well prepared Study materials on various topics of various
subjects.
3. Study materials provided by the teachers with provisions of
password encryption which will prevent the theft of notes.
4. Videos made by the professors and experienced students on
various topics and ideas.
