1 PFD/P&ID

2 Instruments involved

3 Process Description

4 PSV datasheet

5 data validation
Particulars

1. It should contain all P&ID related to system, i.e. in case if jacked reactor is heated by steam,
all P&ID related to steam, PSV of steam lines, any desuperheater, control valve (pressure
reduction station)

2. For R103-X450, we have N2 line to reactor, but we dont have P&ID to trace back the
N2 line, if it has any PSV for it own system protection, in that case we can eliminate
N2 block outlet case evaluation.
1. In case level transmitter with control (LIPC, PIC, TIC) is involved, set point with
all alarm setting should be provided.
2. All instrument on vessel and vessel parameter controlling instrument data sheet
should be provided.
3. In case control valve failure case is applicable, control valve datasheet should be provided
along with rated CV value.
1. As this project has already developed and running process, so System having PSV
should be explained for it process in detail, i.e.. controls, stop, starts, operating
parameters like temp, flow, pressure, level etc.
2. Any connected system is if identify, which can effect the PSV sizing, operation and
parameter along with control detail should be provided.

3. Equipment of protected system or connected system datasheet should be provided.

i.e. In R103-X450 has sulpholan feed pump, pump datasheet with performance curve
alone with rated flow should be provided.
1. Process Datasheet of PSV should be provide in API-521 format along with back pressure to
check real capability of PSV.

2. If heat transfer equipment is protected by PSV or it is a part of system that is protected by

PSV, that equipment process data sheet should be provide along with clean/dirty heat
transfer area and coefficients.
3. If PRS contain any new finding for applicable cases for process modification or
4. system modification, client need to verify first it with vendor for change in back pressure
and set point, i.e. R102-x450, pave is no fire case PSV hence vendor sized it
for 10% accumulation, but client suggest to consider new fire case PSV, that case should have
accumulation of 21%.

Client need to validate for data constancy between several document, i.e. in many PSV it is
found tag no in datasheet and PSV donot match. Also set pressure are different n different
docs.
