Reverse Engineering a Jib Crane and Winch, Thammasat University May 2017-June 2017
Modelled and redesigned a 19-part assembly of a wall mounted I-Beam S235 Jib crane and winch with a lifting force of
30kN and a motor revolution of 500 rpm using SolidWorks with the purpose of reducing system stress and deformation
Tested the safety of 5 parts of the system including the shaft, rope and screws through reverse calculations and conducted a
Finite Element Method (FEM) Analysis of the CAD model through Ansys Workbench to analyze the tension over the beam
and its deflection
