Jones, by request eCeraanenae 10 " 2 3 “ 16 16 7 8 19 a 2 24 25 RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION FOR ‘THE CENTRAL AVENUE RAPID TRANSIT PROJECT WITH THE FEDERAL ‘TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (FTA) OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TRANSIT DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds in the amount of $5,118,511 are available from the U.S. Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency has classified the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County as a “maintenance area” for carbon ‘monoxide; and WHEREAS, tho Central Avenue Rapid Transit Project is one of the projects identified in the 2014-2019 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) that will ultimately provide another type of transit service within the Albuquerque WHEREAS, the encouragement of the use of alternative transportation to improve air quality and decrease traffic congestion has been identified as a program strategy related to Goal 3 on Public Infrastructure of the City’s Five-Year Goals Pian; and WHEREAS, the City desires to appropriate these funds and City funds in the amount of $872,256 from Transit Capital Implementation Program Fund 305 for the local match and includes the City’s portion of Indirect Overhead (IDOH).. That the Transit Department desires to apply for $5,118,611 to the Federal Transit Administration for the Central Avenue Rapid Transit Project. Section 2, That in the event this grant is awarded, federal funds in the ‘amount of $5,118,511 are hereby appropriated to the Transit Department in the ‘Transit Capital Grant Fund 665 for Fiscal Year 2018, which includes IDOH of $88,528. Section 3. That In the event this agreement is approved, City matching funds in the amount of $872,256 from the Transit Capital Implementation Program Fund 305 is hereby appropriated to Transit Grant Fund 885 for Fiscal Year 2018, which includes IDOH of $15,086. Section 4. Robust planning and outreach muet continue and should not rule out mixed-traffic segments in certain sensitive areas, particularly in sections with limited available right-of-way width and recent trends of successful reinvestment predating this project.
