1. Problem Statement
This project is for to complete the required voltages for
different appliances using widely in daily life. Mostly in houses, which are at large distances
from power houses, coming less voltages from 220v in single phase or 440v in three phase.
Then appliances like AC or Refrigerator does not work at smaller voltages from required
voltages. To keep these appliances in running condition at their required voltages, we are
making this project. This project is also to bear abrupt changes in voltages.
Electronic tap-changer is quick, has better performance,
more capabilities and less maintenance costs in comparison to mechanical tap-changers and
hybrid tap- changers; however, the cost of electronic tap-changers is higher than that of
the conventional tap changers. This is one of the most important factors that prevents broader
applications of this system. This project is also for to minimize the cost.
2. Aims & Objectives
Aim:
Design and Implementation of On load T/F tap changer using relays.
Objectives:
a) Study the different types of loads.
b) Study of different types of Tap changer T/F.
c) Working of Tap changer T/F.
d) To solve problem of voltages in far away houses.
e) Continues power supply for far away houses .
f) To built ability of solving different problems.
g) To create ability of making optimized design.

3. Literature Review
From now long time before, using mechanical tap changer t/f this
problem have been solved. But main advantage was this that this project was costly and
slow. Although various ideas have been introduced for the making of electronic tap
changer, there is no versatility in these ideas. Basically, which configurations are
optimal? Or do the optimal configurations have different structures? The purpose of
an optimal configuration is the structure that has the advantages of full-electronic tap-
changers and draw backs of these tap- changers are decreased as possible. One of
the most important problems of electronic tap-changer is its cost. In this project,
ideas introduced for electronic tap-changer are first classified logically. Then, cost
parameter as objective function is defined to present an optimal configuration.
Following the selection of the optimal configuration, remaining design requirements
such as switching method for a proper commutation, control method and detection of
the rise and drop of voltage, etc. are designed tap-changer and finally the designed
is practically realized.
