Oralmyiasisisararepathologyandarisktothepatientslife.Conventionaltreatmentismechanicalremovalofthelarvae
(maggots)onebyone,whichispainful,distressing,andembarrassingbothtothepatientandtothedentist.Wepresentacasereport
ofapatientwithcerebralpalsythathadoralmyiasistreatedsuccessfullywithivermectin.Theuseofthisantibioticinhumans,its
mechanismofactionandindicationsarediscussed.
