You had seen a patient (Mallika 60y/F) in the outpatient clinic with a non healing
ulcer in the buccal mucosa. She had come with his son who is the primary
caregiver. You had sent a biopsy from the lesion and from the cervical node. After
one week the biopsy report comes as well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of
buccal mucosa with lymph node metastasis.
Do you think it is necessary to disclose the information to the patient? Why?
