INT. DORM BEDROOM - DAY
An empty dorm room is shown with two beds, two wardrobes,
and two desks.
SABRINA, a petite 15 year old with brown hair, walks in, a
large suitcase trailing behind her. A duffel bag hangs off
of her shoulder. She stops, taking in the scene, looking
around slowly. She sets her bags aside.

Sabrinas phone sounds from inside of her pocket. She

reaches into her pocket, taking it out. The screen glows
with a photo of a woman and text reading, "Mom" over it.
Sabrina touches the screen, answering the call.

SABRINA
Hey mom.
As she listens to her mother speak, Sabrina begins to pace
around the dorm room. She stops at the window, looking at
the people below.

SABRINA
Yeah mom, I made it to my room
okay. Im fine, its been... about
five minutes since you and dad
dropped me off. I wish that you
didnt have to go so soon - its
really nice.
Sabrina pauses and listens to her mother. Her smile falters
a bit, and she sighs heavily.

SABRINA (CONTD)
I know Mom. Trust me. Im not going
to get into any trouble anymore.
Sabrina smiles, letting out a small laugh. She sits down on
the ledge of the window, half paying attention to her
mother.
SABRINA
Hm? Roommate? Oh, I havent met her
yet. Im sure shes nice-

Just as Sabrina says this, the door swings open, revealing a

dark haired tall girl, JOSIE, behind it. Sabrina quickly
stands up.
SABRINA
Oh, hi!
The girl stares at Sabrina. She sizes her up.

SABRINA
(into her phone)
Mom, I have to go. Ill call you
later... I love you too.

JOSIE
Hi. Im Josie.
Sabrina hangs up her phone, setting it down on the ledge of
the window. She walks towards Josie, sticking her hand out
for her to shake.

SABRINA
Im Sabrina.
Josie gives Sabrinas hand a shake. Sabrina smiles at her.
Josie begins to place her bags down on the other bed,
looking over her shoulder at Sabrina.
JOSIE
Sabrina? Like, the witch?
SABRINA
(stops to think)
Uh, sure! My mom would probably
have an aneurysm if she heard that
though - she always tells me how
she got the name from the Audrey
Hepburn movie.

JOSIE
Oh. My mom probably got my name
from that pussycat show.

The two exchange a glance, and laugh. Sabrina retrieves her

things from the corner of the room, and also places them
onto her bed. She starts to take clothes out. Josie sits on
her bed instead of sorting clothes, watching Sabrina.
JOSIE
So. Are you a freshman?
SABRINA
No, Im a sophomore. What about
you?

JOSIE
Junior. One more year, and Im out
of here.
Sabrina goes to put clothes into the wardrobe. She pauses to
think of what to say, but Josie beats her.

JOSIE
You were just talking to your mom,
right?
Sabrina turns around, nodding her head. She leans against
the closet.
JOSIE
Whyd they send you here?
SABRINA
What do you mean?
JOSIE
Well, youre not a freshie, so Im
convinced that some shit went down
to make them decide to reroute your
high school career.
Sabrina freezes. She struggles to find the "right" words to
say to her.
SABRINA
Um. Addisons supposed to be like..
one of the greatest schools in the
country. They think itll look good
for college.
Josie seems to be buying it. Sabrina shrugs at her in an
attempt of being clueless.
JOSIE
Yeah, sure, I feel that. My parents
are totally neurotic. They want to
control everything.
SABRINA
Oh. Thats totally... lame.
JOSIE
(smirking a bit)
Oh my god, dont tell me that
youre one of those kids.
Sabrinas confusion is evident.

JOSIE
You know. The goody goody kid who
wont talk bad about her parents.
SABRINA
...What? No. I can... talk bad
about my parents.

Josie raises a brow at Sabrina, daring her to continue.

SABRINA
Like. Im adopted, right?
This is news to Josie. She nods her head.
SABRINA
(completely full of shit)
Well, like, my moms always
forgetting that she didnt give
birth to me. So shes like, "I
didnt stay in labor with you for
ten hours for you to act like
this," or whatever, and Im like,
"Youre right, you didnt!"
Sabrina forces a laugh. Josie just stares at her. Sabrina
begins to worry.
JOSIE
OK. You are obviously too precious
for this world, so I have decided
that I will take you under my wing.
Sabrina lets out a sigh of relief, giggling at Josie. Josie
laughs back, nodding her head - this is a safe zone.

JOSIE
So to begin, Addison Academy is
full of bitches...

INT. CLASSROOM - NEXT DAY

Sabrina sweats in her brand new school uniform. She is one
of the first ones to arrive, and sits in a seat towards the
back of the room. She watches as other girls shuffle into
the room, chatting amongst another. Sabrina is practically
invisible to them.
A well dressed man, looking to be in his late twenties to
early thirties, walks into the classroom, a messenger bag
hugging his neck. He starts to remove his bag from his body,
and meets eyes with Sabrina. Sabrina instantly darts her
eyes down to her empty desk. The man chuckles, putting his
things on his desk and turns to the whiteboard.
He begins to write: "GEOMETRY" in block handwriting onto the
board. Underneath this, he writes: "THEO WARNER".

WARNER looks at his watch for a moment, and then back at the
room of girls. He walks over to the door, and closes it.

WARNER
Hey guys. Welcome to another year
at Addison.
A majority of the girls in the class smile at him and
perkily say, "Thank you" back. Sabrinas one of the few who
dont speak.
As Warner begins the class, Sabrina works to look as normal
as possible - she takes notes in her book, and tries to make
occasional eye contact with the teacher to let him know that
shes awake.
Sabrina looks around. She can hear two girls - one with
blonde hair, the other with red hair - whispering.
GIRL #1
Warner is so hot.
GIRL #2
Id let him find my surface area
any day.

The first girl - blonde - pauses, holding in laughter. She

playfully shoves the other girls arm.
GIRL #1
(a little louder)
Shut up.

Warner stops writing on the board. He looks over his

shoulder at the two girls. He gives them a small smile.
WARNER
Did I hear someone say surface
area?
The two girls freeze. They exchange a look.
GIRL #2
Randi did.
Randi glares at the redhead. She lifts her leg up swiftly,
kicking her friend. The other girl lets out a small yelp.
RANDI (FORMERLY GIRL #1)
Oh, yeah, totally. I love math.
WARNER
Okay. Would you like to give me the
formula for a cube?

RANDI
Totally. Its...

Randi begins to flip through her book frantically. When she

finds the answer that shes looking for, she brightens up
and sits up straight in her chair.
RANDI
Um. 6 times A squared.

Warner nods his head.

WARNER
Thats right.

Randi starts to beam.

WARNER
...But dont talk in class.
Randi falters, and slowly nods her head. She happens to make
eye contact with Sabrina, who smiles at her. Randi fakes a
smile back at her.
RANDI
(whispering)
Whatever.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY

The bell sounds for another class and everyone quickly
shuffles out into the hall. Sabrina is pushed along with the
crowd, and barely escapes. She stands aside a locker
studying her schedule. She has no idea where to go next.
She decides to ask the next person that walks past her- and
when she does by touching their shoulder, she realizes that
shes the girl from her Geometry class.
SABRINA
Hi, I - do you know where... Room
214 is?

RANDI
Well. Were on the first floor.
She beckons to a room marked 105
RANDI
And, those are stairs.
Randi points to stairs just a few feet away.

RANDI
So. 214 must be upstairs.
Suddenly, Sabrina feels stupid for not knowing that already.
She nods her head.

SABRINA
Yeah, youre right. Thanks. Sorry.
Randi is smug as she begins to walk away. She makes sure to
nudge Sabrinas shoulder with her own, hard, and mouths:
"Oops" to her. Sabrina stands alone in the middle of the now
empty hall.

EXT. COURTYARD - DAY

With a tray of food in her hands, Sabrina looks around for a

place to sit. She recognizes some girls from her earlier
classes, but opts out in sitting with them. She stops and
hopes to find Josie, when she feels an arm sling around her
shoulders. She turns to find that it is Josie.

JOSIE
Hey, Sabrina the not teenage witch.
SABRINA
Hi, pussycat.

Josie grins at Sabrina, nodding her head proudly.

JOSIE
How was your first day of hell?
SABRINA
It was... fun, I think.
Josie shrugs her shoulders, pointing at a far off table.
JOSIE
Cmon.
Josie leads the way and Sabrina follows behind. The table is
empty and Sabrina sits down quickly, and so does Josie.
JOSIE
So. I heard that you met Randi.
Josie beckons to a table a few feet away from them. Randi is
sat with three other girls, looking and pointing at Sabrina
as she laughs and smirks.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 8.

Sabrina looks at Josie, trying to keep a brave face on. She

picks up the hamburger thats on her tray, but doesnt bite
at it yet.
SABRINA
Yeah.
Sabrina can feel Randis eyes burning through her.
JOSIE
I overheard her in the bathroom
talking about how some "newbie"
tried to be her friend or
something, and I just knew.
SABRINA
(sheepishly)
Oh.
JOSIE
Yeah, shes a bitch with a capital
B. I wouldnt even make eye contact
with her if I were you, she kind of
wants to ruin your life.
Sabrina doesnt know what to say to this. Shes eager to
change the conversation, so she takes another bite of her
burger and starts to look around the space. She notices that
across the street, there are boys who are also dressed in
uniforms.
SABRINA
Who are the boys?

Josie is chewing her pizza and picks up her carton of milk,

washing it down.
JOSIE
Theyre from Blake. Its our
brother school.

Sabrina nods her head.

JOSIE
If youre lucky - or, I should say:
cute enough, youll get one to ask
you out to Homecoming.
SABRINA
Oh. That sounds... cool.

She looks closely as some boys throw a football back and

forth to each other.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 9.

JOSIE
I think I can see Drew.
SABRINA
Hm?

Josie points to the boy who is about to throw the football.

Hes a tall, medium built stature who just looks nice.
SABRINA
Oh.

JOSIE
Yeah. Hes so hot. I hope he asks
me to Homecoming.
SABRINA
Well, who wouldnt want to go with
a pussycat?
Sabrina and Josie share a grin before they go back to
eating.

The pair sits in silence mostly, except for Josie throwing

in some tidbits about the school. Sabrina laughs at some of
them but for the most part, she doesnt speak.
The bell sounds for fifth period and Josie and Sabrina
exchange a look. Sabrina looks forward at Randi, who is
still smirking towards her. Josie nudges Sabrina.
JOSIE
Hey, youll be fine. Randis all
bark and no bite.

SABRINA
At least I have one friend.
JOSIE
(jokingly)
Who said that I was your friend?
