A column by Ramon Tulfo revealed that the two officials extorted P50 million in exchange for
the release of 600 of the 1,300 Chinese nationals illegally working at Lams Fontana Resort.

commissioners met with him and received five paper bags containing P10

The source said Robles and Argosino initially demanded P150 million
from Sombero in exchange for the release of over 1,300 allegedly
undocumented Chinese workers who were arrested in Lam's illegal
online casino in Pampanga.
Lam's camp allegedly brought down the demand to P100 million, giving
the Immigration officials an initial P50 million and promising another P50
million once his workers were freed.
Aguirre has claimed that Sombero attempted but failed to bribe him to be Lam's
"godfather" during their November 26 meeting.

COMPLAINANT ARGUMENTS
He asked why the Immigration officials admitted only last Tuesday (December 13) that the November
27 meeting with Sombero was part of case buildup on Lam's alleged corrupt activities.
The admission, he said, came three days after the alleged extortion came out in the news.
"Ilang taon na kong abogado, ngayon lang ako nakakita ng entrapment na dalawang tao lang,"
Contacto said.

DEFENSES
"We were not born yesterday. We know that when we put ourselves
in the City of Dreams, sa tingin nyo ba hindi namin alam na may
mga camera dyan (do you think we didn't know that there were
cameras around)," Argosino said.
And with these pieces of evidence, Argosino argued they were able
to expose and gain evidence that there was indeed "payoffs" in the
Bureau of Immigration (BI).
