I’m sure if you spent the 4th of July in San Diego, you enjoyed the terrific “Big Bay
Boom Fireworks Show” that benefits the San Diego Armed Services YMCA. We want to
express our appreciation to the founder and producer of this excellent event, Mr. Sandy
Purdon. While the fireworks show benefits the ASYMCA and supports our programs that
assist military families, the show is a major attraction that helps the San Diego econ-
omy. Well done Sandy!!

Each month, as I look at the SNAPSHOT, I truly appreciate my outstanding team—the
staff of 25, the members of the Board of Management, the Civilian Advisory Committee,
the Military Advisory Committee, the members of Avant Garde and the hundreds of mili-
tary and civilian volunteers. It is the passion of these fine individuals who enable this
organization of so few to serve so many at no cost to the participants. Without the pas-
sion and support of these individuals and the donations we receive from the San Diego
community, we could not do what we do. The below chart shows the results of it all.
