FOCUS GROUP INTERVIEW GUIDE

Interviewer:

I am very privilege to have you as one of my participants of this study

about our gay lingo. I would also like to profess my appreciation for rendering

your time in this endeavor. With this, I will be asking you some queries about

the evolution of gay lingo in your school since I believe you are one of those

who have comprehensive knowledge about the topic. Thus, I am humbly

asking for your full cooperation and participation. Should there be any

questions not clear to you, please dont hesitate to ask me to explain and

clarify it.

Interview guide for query no. 1 (How does specialized language of homosexuality
evolve in the academic community in Tagum?)

Building Rapport:

1. How often do you use Gay Lingo in conversations?

2 How would you start a conversation in gay lingo?

3. How did you learn to use gay lingo in communication?

Focus Group Discussion:

4. Why are you using gay lingo? What are your reasons?

5. In your own view, how does gay lingo evolve in your school?

6. Why is gay lingo changing from time to time? Was there a pattern?

7. In your own perception, what do you think are the reasons of its change?

8. How do you feel when you are using gay lingo in school?

9. Does gay lingo reflect your sexual preference (Sexuality)? Why?

SIMULATION OF GAY LINGO CONVERSATION

Simulation guide for query no. 2 (What are the linguistic features of the

specialized language?)

Instruction:

At this point, we are going to have a simulation of conversations you

do in gay lingo. I will not interfere in your conversation. I will just be an

observer, so you have to assume that I am not here. All you need to do is to

engage each other in a conversation that you usually do within your circle in

gay lingo. This will be recorded in video and audio tape.

After the Simulation:
