The Silodam project was installed on
the same jetty as the Graansilo project in central Amsterdam. The Silodam building is a mix of social 2 and private housing and 600m of commercial space. The housing comprises of lofts, studio apartments, maisonettes and penthouses.
109 spaces in two separate 5BY2
systems each with a glass drive- through entry/exit module were installed to serve the iconic Silodam building.
With the ceiling of the 5BY2 system
being a road structural integrity was essential. This was assured by long blade walls in the system which the vehicles are able to puzzle around due to the flexibility of the 5BY2 system.
The lift is situated in the middle of
the 5BY2 system and puzzling can take place in two units, such that retrieval is optimised. There is also the potential to call the garage from the apartment to ensure the car is in the entry unit when arriving for retrieval.
