Immobilization Assignment

Due Date: 11/14/16

Guidelines:
You are to come up with an improvised immobilization device using only what you have
at your home.

You will choose 1 upper extremity injury, 1 lower extremity injury, and 1 other injury of
your choice.

In a Word document you must state the actual injury, the mechanism of injury and
describe the procedures STEP-BY-STEP to immobilize the injury.

Pictures that need to be included:

o At least 1 of the set-up; must clearly display materials

o At least 3 of the actual procedure
o At least 1 of the completed splint; make sure you clearly show the entire splinted
body part

Your pictures must be placed in document along with all other information, saved as a
PDF file, and uploaded via Blackboard.

o Extremity Injury of your choice 5
