~isms Group Project #1 Herland Film Project Guidelines Towards the beginning of the semester, you wrote a script and then acted out a chapter of the novel we have been reading, Herland. We are going to take this activity a step forward by creating a movie of the entire book. Each group will cover three chapters from the book. We will watch the film you have created in its entirety on Friday, March 22, 2013. Component 1 The Script Once you have been assigned your chapters, you will have to create a script. In your group, you must thoroughly discuss the dialogue that will be included as well as any stage directions. After you have created a first draft of the outline, you must go through it to make sure that it makes sense. You will then edit your script for clarity until you have a final draft. The final draft of the script must be submitted to the instructor. Component 2 The Film This is the fun part! You will assign roles for the project and begin creating your film. You will need to procure a camera (somebody HAS to have one on their phones at least), create a background (set), and act out the scenes WITHOUT the script. Once you have a rough cut of your project, you must work together to edit it for the finalized version. Grades I will grade your film on the following things: Continuity/Clarity of the Script Background/Settings/Costumes Production Quality Group Participation
