Your Season Pass (Pass) is for your use and enjoyment, but it is also a revocable privilege. Listed below are some rules and guidelines we hope will make your experience safer
and more enjoyable. This is only a partial list; always use good judgment for the protection of yourself and others.
As a condition of holding the Pass and in return for being permitted to participate in the Sports and use the facilities of the Ski Area, I and my child (collectively, I, me, or
my) agree to the following:
1. The Pass is non-assignable, non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person or season. There are no exceptions. I understand that use of my Pass by anyone other
than me will constitute fraud and/or another crime, will result in the immediate loss of all lift and skiing/riding/participation privileges without compensation, and may result in
criminal prosecution.
2. I understand my Pass is issued and valid for the remainder of the 2015-16 winter season, 2016 summer season and 2016-17 winter season. I understand that the Ski Area
cannot guarantee snow conditions or the number of usable days in either the winter or summer seasons, and that refunds are not available. To insure my Pass against certain
personal occurrences (for example, my severe sickness or injury), I understand that insurance by Travel Guard Insurance Co. is available for purchase. If I do not buy Pass
insurance, I agree that I am not eligible for a refund of any kind.
3. I understand and agree that each time I use my Pass or anyone for whom I have executed this agreement uses his or her Pass, such use will constitute a renewal and
reaffirmation of my and the users acceptance of this agreement and the release of liability and indemnity agreement that follows below. In the event that I renew my Pass for a
subsequent season or seasons (renewal season), I understand and agree that this agreement will remain in effect for each renewal season.
4. I will keep out of all areas marked Closed. If I travel beyond any ski area boundary, I agree to assume all risks associated with backcountry travel, including avalanches. I
understand that I may be charged for any rescue, if available, beyond any ski area boundary. Once the ski season has ended, Squaw Valley Resort and Alpine Meadows Resort
are not patrolled.
5. I agree to read and follow each and every rule stated in Your Responsibility Code, the Placer County Skiers Responsibility Code, the Freestyle Terrain Users Responsibilities,
and sections 537, 602(r), and 653i of the California Penal Code (see below).
6. In the event my Pass is lost or stolen, I must notify the Season Pass Office and it may be replaced for a $5 charge. If I do not have my Pass in my possession for any reason,
and I want to use the facilities, I will have to purchase a daily lift ticket at the rate being charged to the general public.
7. I understand that the Ski Area reserves the right to restrict the use of my Pass for any reason or to close the resorts, or portions of the resorts, for any special function or for
any reason whatsoever.
8. I agree that attempting to use my Pass on any day or night when it is not valid will result in immediate revocation of all Pass privileges without compensation, and will be
considered fraud.
9. The Ski Area may amend and modify the terms of the season pass program and eligibility for the season pass program at any time.
10. If Ski Area management and/or ski patrol believe that my behavior or conduct is inappropriate or unsafe, I understand they have the right to suspend or revoke my Pass
without my having any right to refund or reimbursement.
1. I understand that my participation in winter activities, summer activities, and all other associated recreational activities at Squaw Valley Resort and/or Alpine Meadows Resort can be
DANGEROUS AND INVOLVE THE RISKS OF INJURY AND DEATH. These activities include but are not limited to skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, tubing, racing, climbing, roller skating,
roller blading, hiking, biking, zip lining, slack lining, climbing, and dry land training; as well as participation in mini-snowmobile use, lagoon/pool/spa use, yoga, tennis, broomball,
hockey, disc golf, special events, instruction, and/or any other recreational activities offered at Squaw Valley Resort and/or Alpine Meadows Resort (collectively, Sports).
2. I understand that the Sports involve numerous risks including, but not limited to, the risks posed by changes in terrain and snow conditions; surface and subsurface snow conditions;
icy, firm, or hard snow; unmarked obstacles; thin snow cover; bare spots; bumps; moguls; stumps; forest growth and debris; erosion control devices; rocks; cliffs; steep terrain;
deep snow; avalanches and avalanche debris; and other hazards, whether the risks are obvious or not. I also understand that the Sports involve risks posed by loss of balance; loss
of control; falling; sliding; and collisions with trees, rocks, fences, racing gates, finish posts, timing equipment, terrain features (natural or man-made), other participants and/or
spectators, snowmaking or snowgrooming equipment and their components, snowmobiles and other over snow vehicles, and all manmade or natural obstacles (padded or not) whether
they are obvious or not. Other risks include steep, slippery, and uneven roads and trails containing ledges, sand, mud, grass, water bars, bumps, ruts, and brush (all of which can be
hidden or obscured by vegetation). I further agree that my equipment must be in good condition, but even so it poses risks to me if it develops problems during use. I understand that
falls are common while participating in the Sports and during use of the facilities. Minor injuries can become life threatening when they occur far away from rescue personnel or when
alone. I understand that it may take a significant amount of time for rescue personnel to locate and reach an injured person.
3. Despite the risks involved in the Sports and as consideration for being allowed to participate in the Sports, I AGREE TO EXPRESSLY ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISK OF INJURY OR
DEATH that might be associated with my participation in the Sports and use of the facilities at Squaw Valley Resort and/or Alpine Meadows Resort including, but not limited to, terrain
parks and their features, the High Camp premises, chairlifts, the Tram, the Funitel, and other mountain transportation, rental equipment, and traveling beyond any ski area boundary
(collectively, use of the facilities or use the facilities).
4. I AGREE TO RELEASE FROM LIABILITY AND TO NEVER TO SUE Squaw Valley Resort, LLC, Alpine Meadows Ski Resort, LLC, Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, LLC, Squaw Valley Real Estate,
LLC, Squaw Creek Associates, LLC, California Tahoe Conservancy, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, and their respective owners, investors, members, landowners,
sponsors, and parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, and all their respective managers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, and contractors (collectively, Ski Area) for
any damage, injury or death to me arising from participation in the Sports or use of the facilities, regardless of cause, including the ALLEGED NEGLIGENCE of the Ski Area.
5. I understand that this release of liability will prevent me, my child, and my heirs from filing suit or making any claim for damages in the event of injury or death arising from my
participation in the Sports or use of the facilities. I understand this is a release of liability that will apply whenever I participate in the Sports or use the facilities.
6. If I, my child, or any legal representative files a claim or a lawsuit arising out of my participation in the Sports or use of the facilities, I AGREE TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD
HARMLESS the Ski Area for any damages, attorneys fees or costs arising out of such a claim or a lawsuit.
7. The Ski Area routinely collects images, content and data for commercial purposes and patrons may be readily identifiable in these images, content or data. I grant exclusive
permission to the Ski Area to use my likeness and my content for the purpose of publicity, public relations, social media sharing or other commercial purposes without compensation
and without restriction as to frequency and duration.
8. By signing this agreement, I declare under penalty of perjury that I am doing so only for myself and/or on behalf of persons for whom I am authorized. If I execute this Release of
Liability on behalf of another person, I am acting as the agent for that person, and my signature expressly confirms that I have permission to sign on the other persons behalf, and that
this agreement is binding on that person. If the other person brings a claim or lawsuit against the Ski Area, I agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Ski Area as fully set
forth in Paragraph 6 above. If I sign without the express permission of any other person, I understand and agree that I am committing fraud against the Ski Area.
9. I agree that this entire two-page agreement is binding on me, my child, my heirs, assigns and legal representatives. I acknowledge that this agreement is severable and that if any
clause is found to be invalid, the offending clause will be stricken and the balance of the agreement will remain in effect and will be enforceable. I agree that any action arising from or
related to this agreement must be brought only in Placer County (state court) or the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California (federal court) as venue. This agreement is
subject to and interpreted under the laws of the State of California.
