Important Resume Dos and Donts Tips for Students

Resume Dos for Students:

Correct contact details Full Name, Address, Phone Number and Email

Showing absolute facts and figures are a must

and 12 for the content

No Grammar Mistakes
Avoid Unnecessary Capitals Or use of Bold Letters
Consider 5 major points before preparing the resume. These are; Contact
information, education, experience/ projects handled, and skills and interests.
These act as the major pillars of your resume and the content under these should
speak the candidate you are.

Contact Information
Your contact details such as Name, address, Mob no., Email address should be
correctly mentioned with name being in bold. One appreciates an email address
being formal or professional rather than it being casual or informal. For eg; avoid
email id such as crazyme@eee.com

Education Qualification
Your Education Qualification Should be in reverse Chronological order

Mention the university/colleges/schools you have been part of previously and


currently. Key in the details of the subject you are involved with and highlight the
specialization there after. You need to mention the university/colleges/schools
name and expected year of passing and enrollment year with the CGPA score

Experience
Here we are not talking about the typical work experience as it is evident we are
preparing a beginners resume or a student resume. This term in the context mean
any experience that a student holds in terms of additional initiatives, activities,
Internships, projects handled, The knowledge that is acquired through these is
something you need to highlight.

Skills
Acquired skills (technical) are an important aspect. This proves your capabilities to
do the job

Interest and Hobbies


Your inbuilt and acquired interests are an important aspect. This proves not only
your capabilities but also your urge to follow them. Mention two Interested
Academic Subjects that you are interested and enjoyed
