How to create a professional CV

A CV should be no more than 2 pages of A4. To save space just describe only an education summery and
professional experience. If you are newly graduated, your CV can be only one page, this is acceptable and more
reliable for the recruiter. The academic/scientific CV is usually much longer it depends on professional
experience or scientific works.

What should your CV contain?

• Contact details – enter your full name, address, phone number and e-mail.

Profile – The profile on your CV, highlights your top qualities and help to difference you from other candidates.
It is usually positioned on the top of CV, on the profile you highlight some important achievements and skills,
also express your career goals. CV personal statements should be short and snappy - 100 words is the perfect
length.

• Education – Date and describe all your education, including professional qualifications.

• Work Experiences – List your work experience from the earliest to the currently working position, making
sure to mention important information for the position you are applying for. If your work experience is very
important, you should put it before education.

• Skills and achievements – in this section you will decide foreign languages and computer skills. The skills
should be relevant to the job you are applying for. Be sure to do not exaggerate your real abilities, as you will
be exposed in the interview.

Interests – Your hobbies will not attract the recruiter’s attention if they are not related to your skills and
application. Relevant interests provide information about who you are.

CV format

• Avoid fonts that are not used often. Choose something professional to read such as "Monserrat" or "Times
New Roman". Use a font size between 11 or 12 to ensure that potential employers can read your CV.

• Resume headlines are a good way to grab attention. Make sure making them bigger ( 14 or 16) would be
better.

• Be sure that everything is in chronological order.

• Keep it concise by using clear space and bullet points. This type of resume layout allows recruiters to select
important information first.

How to write a good CV

• A good CV has no spelling mistakes. Use a spell checker and proofread it a few times before sending it.

• Avoid general, overused phrases and terms such as "team worker", "worker" and "multitasker".

• Do not put the term 'curriculum vitae' at the top of the page.
