I am an experienced reader, mixing tarot and palms with traditional cold reading. I have read Kenton Knepper's Completely Cold a
number of times, but have never tried it out.
Have any of you used his technique? Does it work? How does it compare to more traditional approaches to cold reading?
Any and all views welcome. Tony.

I use Completely Cold and it is useful. I was already intuitively doing something similar but Kenton really has a way of clarifying a
technique and presenting it in its beautiful essence.

That said, I agree with Philemon Vanderbeck that it is most useful as part of a larger arsenal, e.g. integrated into your tarot
Loyal user readings.

Even though it's an interesting concept, when this came out there was little other material. It's useful, but should be a small section
in a book and not a whole book in itself. So as a stand alone product it's not that great imho.

Some years ago, after reading CC, at that time my only book on the subject, I misguidedly put an ad in the local paper offering
psychic readings. I had one call from a woman whose regular psychic had moved abroad. It sounded as though she desperately
needed help, so I suggested she should get professional counselling - but I thought I ought to try to help in some way so I started
the CC procedure, in a fairly primitive way. After a few minutes she told me that I had helped her more than her psychic had ever
done.

This experience was one of the reasons why I decided to do the job properly and train as a hypnotherapist.

My other experiments with CC were less successful. I did try it on myself, though, with some interesting results.

I agree. I have the cd version and aside from two key elements of CC that do help it lends itself to other material.
I am still a beginner at reading like this studying it for around one year so CC helped but I think it's more interesting with some
things from other material like Ian Rowland's Full Facts book.

I do think however, that CC can be use by itself with some creativity.

wow tonyb. I'm discovering you are a jack of all trades.

you do hypnosis [while you do not believe in hypnosis according to your own words in other threads] and you are also an
EXPERIENCED reader

no offense but if I had to believe you I would answer : an experienced reader should not need completely cold

Kenton's " magic words " = " gibberish " to me. I don't speak gibberish to my sitter's.

Yes....if you're really reading, you will never need it. It's for bumping up your 'Hit count' which sincere readers are unconcerned
about.

I said in my original post that I am an experience reader; I am. I didn't say I was a good reader, or an authority on reading, just
experienced. And as such I am interested in anything that can add to my skills, and the satisfaction of the people I do readings for.
That is why I asked the question about Completely Cold. After reading it a number of times I was not sure was it strong enough to
make a signicant improvement in my readings.
To all of you who have taken the trouble to give a serious answer, my sincere thanks. To psydroid, grow up. Tony.

So after reading it a few times how did it play for you when you used it in a reading?

I am a VERY beginning reader. I do playing card readings and a little numerology and palmistry. When I rst got completely cold, I
was underwhelmed and decided not to use it. Then I got "personal Touch" by Docc Hilford (short download @ lybrary.com).
"Personal Touch," is not about completely cold, but Docc uses a little of it and gets a very good reaction, he then recomends it
highly. SO I went back to the drawing board.
I used completely cold for the rst time tonight at a halloween bizarre show. I do an easy reading/card revelation for a glimpsed
Inner circle card, so I added awarness words some other stuff from completely cold and was amazed at the reaction!

I think completely cold + reading system = very impressive. At some point I would like to get the CD, but until I think I'll be
incorporating this into all my reading from now on.

For me, the best part of Completely Cold is the way it keeps on selling itself within the text, after you've already bought it. It's self-
propagandistic!

Actually, it is a good idea. I started using the concept right away, and found that, for me, Completely Cold works best as a
condence builder and a bridge when my "going out on a limb" has not paid off. It's a way of regaining lost flow. When things are
Veteran user going well, Completely Cold is not worth bringing in to the mix. In other words, it works best for me when the reading has hit a

snag. It also works well with truculent or evasive clients.

I would never use Completely Cold as the sole basis of a reading -- it's too "thin" on substance. The price was a bit high for the
amount of text and the funkiness of layout, but that was still okay with me, consoidering how useful it is.

I am a reader with 45 years experience. For me, Completely Cold will never replace having a real reading system (or several) under
your belt, plus sudying the combined works of Bob Nelson, Richard Webster, and Ron Martin -- but it has its place.

I use completely cold sparingly, like most here probably do.In tarot palm or numerology readings, I nd it very useful to keep the
positive direction of the reading, also keep a deck of shadows handy to introduce at those same times
