Q1. The small 5-kg block is placed on the inclined plane

and subjected to 50 N and 75 N forces that act parallel with
edges AB and AC, respectively. If the block is initially at
rest, determine its speed when t = 6 s. The coefficient of
kinetic friction between the block and the plane is k = 0.3.

Q2. Forces F1 and F2 vary as shown by the graph. The

3-kg smooth disk is traveling to the right with a speed

Q3. The 50-kg block is hoisted up the incline using the cable and motor arrangement
shown. The coefficients of kinetic and static friction between the block and the surface
are k = 0.4 and s = 0.5, respectively. If the block is initially at rest, and at this instant
(t = 0) the motor develops a tension in the cord of = (300 + 120) N, where t is in
seconds, determine the velocity of the block when t = 2 s.

Answer: v2 = 0.263 m/s
